October 16 - 31, 2025 Finishing up October!

16-Thu-We got up and around pretty early for us this morning. We left about 9:00 AM and drove to Oklahoma City for Steve’s appointment with the back doctor. We waited about 30 -45 minutes before the doctor could see him and then we were done about noon. We stopped at Schlotzky’s for lunch, and I was shocked that it cost about $30 for 2 sandwiches, chips and drinks! Our next stop was at Camping World to see if they had any different used RVs that interested us. We had no luck there and got home about 3 PM. I made meatloaf, and baked potatoes for supper.

17-Fri-After our morning routine we walked a few blocks in the neighborhood. We had not removed the tow bar from the RV - so we did that this morning. Then we went to the car wash and washed under the RV trying to see if there will be a leak after it sits in the carport awhile. Next we dumped our black tank and fresh water tank. We also emptied the hot water tank and put air in my car tires. Later we went and got the pickup (it had new brakes and other work) and brought it home.

18-Sat-We went to Walmart and got groceries first thing this morning. We got home and had lunch and I made some brownies. We left for Kristi's about 3:30. It was family game night and we had pizza and brownies and played Mexican Train.

19-Sun-A routine day today - Dallas beat Washington. Supper was Canadian bacon, eggs, toast and yogurt.

20-Mon-After doing our morning routine I paid some bills and ordered a birthday present for Cielo. Then we went to Stillwater to get the pcickup aligned at Direct Discount Tires. We also stopped at Walgreen’s and Ulta for hair care supplies. I made us a great Turkey/cheese grilled sandwich for supper .

21-Tue-We got around and went to Linda’s. She had encouraged me to get this foot massager type thing ($25) and I did. But I did not see any benefit. In fact I wasn’t even sure it worked. So I gave it to her so she could find someone who might use it. Then we made a stop at Perry Veterinary for heartworm meds. We had lunch at home and then Steve cleaned out the refrigerator in the RV. I washed up the RV towels and some other laundry. Steve still has not gotten his community care referral from the VA - so I sent messages to them also.We had supper at La Macarena.

22-Wed-After breakfast we caught up quicken and paid some bills. Then we got ready for another appoint at the Oklahoma City VA. The parking there is still a mess. They tore down one parking lot and are now going to build a multi-level parking structure. I have no idea why they did not do that in the first place. DUH! After the appointment we went to Tinker Air Force Base and bought meat and other items at the commissary. We left OKC about 3:30 and were home by 4:30. Then we just relaxed. Supper was Chicken Parm, baked potato and greens, with berries for dessert.

23-Thu-I worked on the computer this morning and calculated our trip expenses.I sent more secure messages to the VA regarding Steve’s orthotics and his back referral. We tried to watch the Vikings, but they were playing poorly so we watched regular TV and that was just storm coverage. Bummer.

24-Fri-Routine day, I worked on the blog  and we putzed around. It rained off and on throughout the day. I made enchilada casserole for supper.

25-Sat-Another pretty routine day. It was damp. We watched OU get beat. we took a short walk and also looked on the computer for RV’s. Supper was chili with chips.

26-Sun-Not much to report today. We did got to the post office and Homeland. We ate our leftover chili for lunch. Then we had a short walk and watched football. Dallas got beat by Denver 20 points!

27-Mon-Well today was my doctor appointment at Stillwater. It was at 10 Am and then aI had labs drawn, so it was 11:45 before I was finished. I drove Steve by the VA at Stillwater for a flu shot. Next it was a trip through Walmart. We got home about 1:30 and had a late lunch and rested. We had some rain in the late evening.

28-Tue-Today was pretty much a blah day. Steve paid the vehicle insurance, we picked up the mail and went by Linda’s. It was a rainy morning. At supper Linda & Hazel joined us for supper at Boomerang.

Sunset

29-Wed-I didn’t feel too hot  this morning so I took it easy most of the day. I just had soup and crackers for lunch. I got a good report from my lab work. - No problems to report. I paid bills. Steve clean under the sink. Supper was pork chops, couscous and berries.

30-Thu-Most morning are the same. I did clean out one of my dresser drawers and Steve cleaned the stove top. After lunch we worked on the weed behind our fence. Fore supper I made chicken pot pie (Biscuit topper) and salad.

31-Fri-Well we were off to Oklahoma City again today. We left about 10:15 and arrived at 11:25. Steve had an eye appointment at noon. We were home by 2:30. I got my flu shot today.

Happy Halloween!

December 16 - 31, 2025 Celebrating Christmas, Steve's Birthday and New Year's Eve!

16-Tue-We have been watching The Pitt, with Noah Wylie since the first season is on TNT. We really like this show. We ate our leftover chili for lunch. Then we wet to Linda’s Beauty shop to get new hairdos. On our way back to the house we checked the mail. I encouraged Steve to rest his back this afternoon. We ate supper at La Macarena with Linda and Hazel.

My Hairdo!

17 -Wed-This was kind of an easy does it day. I worked on paying some bills and updated Quicken. After lunch I worked on my blog and we watched TV. I think I might have taken a nap. I made chicken enchilada casserole for supper.

18-Thu-We were up at 7:00 this morning. Steve had a 10:30 appointment for his community care appointment in OKC. He is seeing someone to determine if he is a candidate for basivertebral nerve (BVN) ablation. So we arrived at 9:30 and saw the nurse, PA and doctor. We were home by 12:30. So the rest of the day was not much. Sometimes those doctor trips take it out of us.

19-Fri-We got up and around pretty good this morning. Our first stop was to deliver Linda’s Christmas present. Then we went to Stillwater to Walmart for Christmas groceries. We got home about 1:15 and Paige, Dave & JC stopped by about 1:30. She brought me a gift basket from Thorn’s. It was nice. Supper was pizza and salad greens followed by berries.

20-Sat-So today wasn’t too busy. We watched football and ate leftover pizza. We did take a walk to the park in our neighborhood. I made a reservation for a cabin at Robbers Cave State park. Then we shopped online for RV’s.

Pizza again!

21-Sun-I did not get up til 9:00. This was another football Sunday. Dallas got beat. We took a walk about 3 PM. Then it was more tv. For supper I fixed sloppy joes, fries and berries.

22-Mon-OK, today was a busy day. We vacuumed the carpet and then shampooed it. Steve cleaned both bathrooms. We mopped the bathroom floors and I mopped the kitchen floor. We worked on this til about 4 PM with a few breaks to rest. Later we delivered Hazel’s present and picked up our mail. We relaxed again before supper.

23-Tue-I have no idea what we did this day. I did not write anything down. I guess we just putzed around. I did make reservations for the cabin at the state park. That is the good thing about being retired, sometimes you really get with it and sometimes you don’t.

24-Wed-Today started with baking cookies. Next I baked a pan of brownies. I made pumpkin pie squares from scratch. These were a big hit at Thanksgiving, so I thought we would have them again. I made a breakfast casserole and baked it so we could just warm it up for breakfast on Christmas morning. I also made Pink Party Salad. We cleaned off the table and put in the leaf and added a tablecloth. We also cleared off the buffet and got it ready for snacks. Then we made a quick run to Homeland for a few more items. Kristi and John arrived about 3:30 or 4:00. We played Yahtzee and went to La Macarena for supper.

25-Thu-Merry Christmas! I put on the Turkey (with Steve’s help). Then I put out snacks, cheese & crackers, Chex mix, lil smokies, cookies and desserts. I had little bowls of M & M’s, and other chocolate candy. We went outside for a bit and tried to play corn hole but I was not comfortable leaving the kitchen, so I deserted the game. I peeled potatoes, put the ham in the oven and made green bean casserole. I also made dressing and gravy. Austyn and Sky arrived about 12:30. Kristi mashed the potatoes and sliced the turkey. Austyn got the crescent rolls ready. We ate Christmas dinner about 1:00. Logan, Cielo and Mariana arrived about 3:30. That is when we opened presents. That took til about 5:30 or so. Then they ate and we played with Mariana. It is so great everyone could get together! After everyone left we relaxed!

26-Fri-We were a little slow this morning . I did some computer stuff. It was a lovely day temperature wise. so after lunch we worked on unloading the RV bins. Then we watched TV and took it easy.

Steve will fit in this RV compartment when it its empty!

27-Sat-It was a pretty routine morning. I worked on the computer awhile. After lunch we worked on unloading more stuff out of the RV into the garage. Our plan is to maybe head to Texas sometime after the new year and look for RV’s down there. Supper was a yummy turkey sandwich, potato patties and berries.

28-Sun-We got around pretty good this morning. We headed to Yukon about 10:30 AM. We are having all the kids meet us at Hideaway Pizza in Yukon to celebrate Steve’s birthday (tomorrow). We are celebrating early since everyone has to work. So we had three different kinds of pizza and appetizers. Steve opened his presents and enjoyed his early birthday. After pizza, everyone wanted ice cream, so we went to Braums. We got back home about 2:30 PM and watched tv til supper time.

Me and Steve

29-Mon-Happy Birthday to Steve. He turns 65 today! So we had our breakfast and got dressed and made the bed. Then we packed some clothes. We left at 10:30 AM to go to Robbers Cave State Park near Wilburton, OK to stay in a cabin. Our first stop was gas at Bill’s Corner. We drove the turnpike through Tulsa and down to Muskogee. We got more gas. Then we drove back west a bit on I-40 and then south on OK highway 2 to Robbers Cave State Park. We got there about 2:30 or so. We were able to check in early. So we went to our cabin and unloaded our stuff. We rested about 30 minutes. Then we drove around the park and checked out the camping loops and the park office and lake. It was nice. But the weather is cold! We ate supper in Wilburton (Mexican food of course), at El Jimador Mexican Grill. It was good and we would return. We were thrilled with our cabin. The pictures on the website where we made our reservations were old pictures. The cabin was remodeled inside and had an electric fireplace. We are going to return here sometime when the weather is warmer. There was an outdoor fire pit also.

30-Tue-We got up and had our breakfast and took it easy . Of course we got the dogs out right away to do their business. Then we loaded up the pickup. We walked the dogs around the cabins. Then we checked out at 10:30 AM. We parked and walked the dogs some more to the Belle Star  lookout. This state park (Robbers Cave) has a history of outlaws using the area as a hideout. They were going to have some activities like a hay ride and hikes if the weather warmed up. We got home about 3:15. We unloaded our stuff and then rested. It seems that we do a lot of resting and relaxing after our activities! LOL

31-Wed-We got out and about pretty good this morning. We picked up the mail. Then we tried to get the RV tag renewed, but her system was down so we will do that another day. Then we went to Linda’s to say hi! The mail had a letter notifying Steve that his Driver’s License is good. He has to turn in paperwork every year from his doctor, that his MS is stable and his ability to drive is great. We went home and did some banking and bookkeeping. We looked at RVs on the computer. We stayed up to see the New Year in, but not much longer than midnight! Happy New Year!
