December 1 - 15, 2025 Shopping for Christmas and Getting Ready!

1-Mon-Today’s agenda included a trip to the dollar store for labels to put on the Christmas presents. After lunch we wrapped the presents that we have on hand. I made penne bake for supper.

2-Tue-After breakfast and getting our bodies revved up to get with it, we got dressed and made the bed. We put up our Christmas Tree and the inside Christmas decorations. For supper we went to the Kumback Cafe on the square in Perry with Linda and Hazel. I ordered beef stew, but it was not appetizing and I had a hard time finding the beef or vegetables. It was mostly some kind of icky thick gravy substance. So it didn’t taste bad, but it definitely did not fit my definition of beef stew! It did not look appetizing either. Probably won’t return here.

Our Christmas Tree

3-Wed-After breakfast and getting around we went to Linda’s shop and visited about an hour. Then we returned home and I did some bill paying. After lunch we went to the post office to mail a check to the Weedman. Of course their price increased since last year, but the yard looked good this fall, so we paid it again! I went to the library and renewed my card so I can use the Libby app to get free books. We also went into a little store on the square called Prairie Exchange. We didn’t see anything to buy. Next I went into Thorn’s and got tickets for the Christmas Tour of Homes. I am still coughing! I am so tired of that!

4-Thu-We putzed around for awhile this morning. I have no idea what we did today. I do know there was a full moon tonight. We watched Dallas get beat by the Detroit Lions.

Supper was chicken soup, crackers and berries.

The Moon!

5-Fri-I got up late today, about 9:00 and Steve got up about 6:00. After lunch we went to Stillwater to shop. We went to Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Sharpe’s, Ollies and Shoe Sensation. Then we made a stop at Walmart. We got home about 4:30. I was so surprised when I checked our mailbox in front of the house. We got a La Macarena Gift Certificate from Marsha and Tony! She pulled off a pretty good trick, since she lives in New Jersey. She looked them up on the internet and then called them. The people who operate La Macarena are so nice and delivered it to our mailbox. So Steve and I had date night at La Macarena! Woo hoo!

Chicken  Soup

6-Sat-Another routine morning. I talked to Marsha. Then we ordered some more  gifts online. After lunch we worked on putting up our outside lights. That took most of the afternoon, but we didn’t have any conflicts. We watched football after that. We are getting in the groove for Christmas.

Outdoor Lights

7-Sun-We both slept in a bit this morning. We then watched TV til 11:30 . We got dressed and I fixed my hair. We did the Christmas Tour of Homes from 1:00 til 3:30 PM. Then it was more football. I made homemade pizza for supper. Yum!

An Oklahoma State Tree we saw on the Christmas Tour of Homes

Another tree from the tour. Steve had a great idea, put that wire tree over a green tree and it would look really neat!

8-Mon-We were up and around early today. We left the house at 8:00 AM. Steve had his annual appointment with his MS provider at the VA. Our first stop was medical records to sign a release for his back MRI report and disc. Then it was Xray on 2nd floor to pick up the disc. Next it was back to the 1st floor to see his PA. He was also seen by PT, OT, Speech Pathologist and Social Worker. On our way out we stopped in the Cafeteria so Steve could have a snack and take his meds. He had to be fasting today. We drove home, got gas and picked up the mail.

My sister & her husband live in New Jersery but go to S. Carolina for the winter. We visited them there last year and I did not buy an ornament for the tree while I was there. She sent this to me for our tree!

9-Tue-After we had breakfast and putzed around for a while we started the laundry. I paid a bill and filed a travel claim for yesterday. Later we went by Linda’s shop to get some yummy treats. I went to Thorn’s to order a poinsettia for Marsha and Tony (Christmas present). We got back home and Steve went ahead and ordered new seat covers for his pickup. Steve and I ate at La Macarena without Linda and Hazel.

Saw this at Linda's beauty shop!

10-Wed-After breakfast we got around and wrapped presents. We had an appointment at 1;00 and then went to the bank for a visa gift card. Next stop was the dollar store for a Chili’s gift card. We mailed our long distance gifts (cards and a check) today. Supper was cube steak, fries and berries.

11-Thu-We returned to Stillwater today. We had bought a snow globe there and it broke when we unloaded it at home. So we returned to Home Goods today and bought another one. Our next stop was at Walmart for supplies. We got home and unloaded our stuff. We tried to get the oil changed in our vehicles but they could not do it today. Then we went to Linda’s to make a hair appointment. Linda joined us at La Macarena for supper.

12-Fri-Our plan today was to drive to OKC and meet Kristi and John at Target for more Christmas shopping. She was off today because she has to work one Saturday per month. John was off because he hurt his hip at work. So we toured Target and bought some things for Christmas. We ate lunch at Cowboy Chicken and it was really good. They had great chicken strips! Then we went to the mall and got some items at Eskimo Joes. We also went into Dillards and Penneys. We took Kristi and John back to their car. Steve & I returned to Dillards to get some towels that Kristi admired when we were there. Before we left OKC we went to Bob Hurley RV to see if they had any RV’s that would suit us. No success. For supper we had pork loin, baked potatoes. Then we had berries and ice cream for dessert.

13-Sat-We were very ambitious today. We changed the sheets on our bed. It is quite an operation, since it is king sized and adjustable. Then we wrapped more presents that we bought yesterday. We washed the sheets. We spent time looking for RV’s online. Trying to find a different RV is difficult.

14-Sun-Not much to report today. It is 15° today. That is way too cold for me! We stayed inside and watched football.

15-Mon-We got a lot of stuff accomplished today. First, we completed the laundry. Then we got the oil changed in the car and pickup. We checked the mail and bought some lottery tickets. We hope to win the billion plus prize! Steve tweaked his back when he was cleaning something, so I put the TENS unit on him later. I made turkey chili for supper.

Steve sent this out to the kids!
Out of time
Out of paper
Out of patience
Out of money
Merry Christmas Everyone!

November 16 - 30, 2025 Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas Shopping

16-Sun-We did our morning things. Then we worked on our decking until lunch. We repeated that after lunch. Later we watched football. That was our day.

Poopsie approves!

17-Mon-Today was more of the same. We worked on our deck project most of the day. Supper was sloppy joes, fries and berries.

We are ready for Monday Night Football!

18-Tue-After we completed our morning routine we went to work. We finished the deck with boards up by the house. We had lunch and relaxed. We put away our tools and materials and relaxed. WE are finished with this deck for now. There is another small section that we will finish after the holidays. Later we ate supper with Linda and Hazel at La Macarena.

19-Wed-We got up and around. We left for Walmart about 11:30 and were home by 1;30. We had a few snacks after putting our groceries away. Then we worked on the compute and took it easy. Supper was pork chops, rice, mixed vegetables and apple crisp.

Apple Crisp

20-Thu-Today it is overcast and expected to rain. We putzed around and got dressed and made the bed. After lunch we worked on the computer. Steve measured his pickup for seat covers. Most of the day we just let our bodies rest. For supper I fixed Cajun potato skins (stuffed with chicken), green beans and berries for dessert.

21-Fri-We did the usual morning routine. Then we took showers and did some laundry. next we got busy on the computer and bought stuff online for Christmas. I tried to get my car tag today, but she closed at at noon on Friday. We picked up the mail and stopped at Linda’s to make an appointment for hair cuts. Steve worked on the ice maker after we got home. I worked on my blog. We tried to check our RV GPS - but it will no come back to life. I made us a grilled turkey/cheese sandwich for supper. Steve feels like he has a cold coming on.

Buster waited on the bed while we ordered stuff on the computer.

22-Sat-Well we did not do much this morning. Steve is sick. We watch OU Football and they won their game. I went to the craft fair, Thorn’s and Homeland while he rested. We continued to watch football until we got tired of that. We watched two old Equalizer movies. Steve had soup and grilled cheese sandwich for supper. I snacked on a bagel and blueberry cream cheese.

23-Sun-Not much got accomplished today. I felt poorly today also. We ate ramen noodles for lunch. I did go to the dollar store for more cold meds and cough medicine. I made us smoothies. They sure made the throat feel better. We watched Green Bay beat the Vikings and Dallas played the Eagles - but I didn’t write down who won. Dallas probably lost. I made chili for supper along with the Weight Watcher’s Key Lime Pie.

24-Mon-Today I checked on Steve’s community care appointment and his referral is valid. I did not feel good today. Steve is a little better. We did some laundry. We are eating soup for lunch and chili for supper.

25-Tue-Same story, different day. I took a hot shower hoping to help my cough and congestion. I did not feel good. Lunch was Ramen noodles and I made chicken vegetable soup for supper. I also made us berry smoothies.

26-Wed-We made a run downtown and got the mail. I was able to get my car tag today. The library was closed - so I could not renew my library card. I use it to get books from the Libby app. We also stopped at Homeland. We ate leftover chicken soup for lunch. Then I made pumpkin pie squares to take for Thanksgiving. We loaded Kristi’s Christmas stuff (what she stored in our shed from her move last summer) to take with us. Steve installed our new ice maker and it is working great. We also went to the Dollar Store for a few items.

Our boss from our volunteer job in Montana (Tony) got an Elk this year!

Pumpkin Pie Squares

27-Thu-Happy Thanksgiving. I am feeling better! Yea! We got around and loaded the car. We left for Kristi’s about 10:15 and got there about 11:30 AM. We visited and ate Thanksgiving Dinner. Later we played Mexican Train. We left about 4:30 and got home at 5:30. We watched Dallas beat the KC Chiefs.

28-Fri-We did not do much today. We looked for presents to buy on the computer. Then we watched TV. Supper was turkey burger, fries and berries.

29-Sat-I was not feeling good today. We only did routine things today and not much else.

30-Sun-I guess I was better today. We got around and went to Walmart. We got air in the tires and gas for the car. We were home by 1:15 PM and unloaded our stuff. After lunch, we watched football. I have no idea what we will do when football season is over. It seems to take up a lot of our time! LOL

November 1 - 15, 2025 Projecs at Home

1-Sat-After we had breakfast and got dressed we watched some TV. Then we got around and started working on weeds behind our fence. We picked up our mail and some RV antifreeze. We took the dogs with us and made a short walk around the square downtown. Looked at RV’s online again.

2-Sun-It was just another routine day. We watched a lot of football and took a short walk.

3-Mon-After breakfast we putzed around for a while then got dressed and made the bed. We worked on the weeds behind the fence again until 11 AM. Then we rested. We did a few loads of laundry, then the rest of the day was taking it easy. I ordered pizza from Pizza Hut for supper and it was not great. We will skip them for awhile.

4-Tue-We were up and around about 7:30 today. After breakfast and two tv shows we got dressed and made the bed. We took a short walk. Then we worked on getting the stick tites (weed seeds) off of our jackets. We were off to Walmart about 11:15. I got a new planner and some gum and decorative plates for Thanksgiving. We also stopped at UPS to retrun our old Amazon fire stick. Then we went to the VA in Stillwater so Steve could get a covid vaccine. We had a salad at Chic Fil A. I got my wedding ring checked and cleaned at Kay Jewelers. Then we bought groceries at Walmart Market. We made it home by 3:00 PM.

5-Wed-We had our usual start to the day. I talked to my sister Marsha for awhile. Then Steve had a brilliant idea to get weeds out of the cracks in the street in front of our house. I am not a fan of this. Next we started digging up the rocks on the north side of our house. We are going to  make a wooden walkway there after we remove all the rocks. We got some weed barrier cloth at the hardware store. We put that down between our shed and the fence. Then we started moving the white rock to the shed area. The white rocks used to be really pretty when I first put them down, but over the years they have gotten dirty. I even used to have to potted plants sitting on them. The rocks are not conducive to keeping your balance as you get older though. So we are building a wooden walkway. It will make it easier to load the RV too. We had lunch and then a short nap. Next we looked at RVs on the computer. I made a list of RV Dealers and the things we want to look for in a different RV. We really like the layout of our current RV, but it is getting some age and miles on it. We are going to try to replace it if possible. We have had it 10 years and it seems like part of the family now.

6-Thu-After our morning routine was finished we went outside to move more rocks and dirt. We are trying tot get it level in this spot. We took a break at 2:30 and had lunch. Supper was a waffle with peanut butter and syrup along with Canadian Bacon.

7-Fri-We are sore from our work yesterday. After we got dressed we moved the RV in the driveway to get the water drained out completely. We are going to winterize the RV. We did have lunch. Then I picked up the mail and some apples for Steve. Steve worked outside on the deck area. I paid bills and checked email.

8-Sat-After getting around , Steve leveled the spot for the decking. I raked rocks Later we went inside and had lunch and looked at some RV’s online. Then we measured the RV and the deck spot.

9-Sun-The morning routine does not change much, breakfast, TV, Dress, make bed. Today we watched football. I put a roast in the crockpot. It is chilly outside, so we were inside most of today.

10-Mon-We did laundry today. I wrote some messages to the VA regarding Steves meds and his back appointment. In addition I worked on the blog. Steve checked on board prices at Lowes website.

11-Tue-We left for Stillwater at 11 AM. We went to Lowe’s. Steve sorted through the boards to get the ones which were the straightest. That took us about and hour and a half. Then we got groceries at Walmart and got home about 2:15. We put our stuff away and had a late lunch. I helped Steve unload the lumber and we stacked it in the garage. We had supper at La Macarena with Linda and Hazel.

Northern Lights at Perry, OK

12-Wed-After breakfast we started painting the boards. We cut the small boards. So it was a day of work.

Painting Boards

More Northern Lights

13-Thu-We were painting boards again today. We have 40 boards to paint front, back, sides and ends. Plus we have to paint the small boards that we will use as cross pieces too. We worked from 10-1 then had a break for lunch. Then more painting from 2 -4. We stopped and took a well-deserved rest. I was very tired and my back hurt. I was really glad to stop for the day.

14-Fri-After we got around we moved some more dirt. Then we finished painting the last 7 boards. Next we started working on the layout of the deck project. I mad pizza at home. I made the crust from a mix and then used sauce in a jar and added my toppings. I think my pizza is better than Pizza Hut!

15-Sat-Another routine start to the day. Then we worked on leveling the deck area. Some dirt has to be added and some taken away. It is a tedious process. But I think it will be worth it. We are making great progress! This is really gonna be wonderful when we finish!

Poopsie checking out our work.
