Feb 16- 28, 2025 Doing More Work Around the House

16-Sun-Well it was another routine day. We did take a small walk. It was 33° at 5;00 PM. 

17-Mon-We stated slow today. I talked with Marsha, we usually talk daily. We complain about the weather and worry about our other sister. Pam (my oldest  sister) who was placed on Hospice today. This makes me sad. We watched TV and completed our laundry. It's still chilly, in the 40’s. I made Chicken Pot Pie for supper. 

18-Tue-OK this cold weather is for the birds it was 15° at 8 AM and getting colder all day. it was down to 6° by 6 PM. We got more snow also. We had an appointment with the financial advisor that I cancelled. He drives over 30 miles and the roads were not good. I ordered a new remote for the TV. Steve and I got on the computer and looked at RV’s. We want a newer one, but haven’t found the right one. I got the backing sewed for Mariana’s quilt. 

19-Wed-It was 3° at 6:30 AM. It was pretty much a putz day. We spent time on You Tube looking at California National Parks and Mount Shasta, Devils Post Pile NP, and Pinnacles NP. I made chili for supper.

20-Thu-We didn’t sleep too good last night. Poopsie (our dachshund) hurts. I gave her some medicine, but I don’t think it helped much. I made Beefy Penne Pasta for supper. It was good.

21-Fri-We were both up overnight with Poopsie. She does not feel good. I called the vet and got her an appointment. They were able to get her in at 11 AM. We got more meds for her. We completed our paperwork for our Montana Volunteer Job (summer at Echo Lake). 

22-Sat-We slept in a little bit this morning, Poopsie’s meds helped her. We paid bills and went to Linda’s for a hairdo. Steve got new wiper blades for the pickup. We put our paperwork for Montana into the mail.

23-Sun-Steve got a new battery for the RV. We did two loads of laundry. Supper was Roast Beef, Potatoes, Carrots and Berries. 

24-Mon-It was another bad night of sleep for us. Poopsie would not settle down. We got the trash out and did a load of laundry before Kristi arrived about 9 ish. Steve started working on her vehicle. She needed brake pads on all 4 wheels. We all went to lunch at La Macarena. The brake job was finished about 3:00 PM. After that - we rested.

25-Tue-We were up at 7:30. After a slow start we made the bed, dressed and I fixed my hair. We had an appointment with Edward Jones this morning and I had to pick up my contacts and mail today. After lunch we took it easy. Supper was at La Macarena with Hazel and Linda. 

26-Wed-Today after completing our morning routine we headed to Stillwater. I need some quilt batting for the baby quilt. So we picked that up at Hobby Lobby and stopped at Walmart for groceries. The screens that were replaced from last summer’s storm were delivered today about 3:30 PM. So that will be our next project. We had breakfast for supper tonight.

27-Thu- We started on the window screens and window washing. That went from 11-1:30, then a break for lunch. More work from 2-4:30. The progress is slow. They are very frustrating and difficult to re-install. I made Cheesy Hashbrown Hamburger Helper and we had salad with it. We also had fiber one brownies and berries for dessert.

28-Fri-Today I helped Steve with the windows, that was before and after lunch. We got two finished in front and one in back. Supper was pizza and breadsticks with berries for dessert.

February 1 - 16, 2025 Doing Our Routine Things and Celebrating Family

1-Sat- I was up around 8:00 this morning. We  completed our morning chores and watched some TV. I put in two travel claims to the VA one to Oklahoma City and the other to Stillwater.  We walked a bit. Supper was Fish, Fries and Berries.

2-Sun-I guess I like online shopping better than going to the store I ordered 2 bras from Dillards and a new journal off Amazon. Then I checked into South Carolina State Parks. I filled the pill boxes and ordered more meds. We had breakfast for supper today. 

3-Mon-I was up a little later today. Steve made up the bed and started the laundry. Then we worked on his music after I got dressed. I had a mammogram appointment at 2:45 in Ponca City so we left at 1:45. I waited an hour before they called me back for the mammogram. I was unhappy. and it was more painful than usual. I think I got a poor technician. We got home about 5:00 and had supper and watched TV. 

4-Tue-Another routine day. We worked on the music list over and over. It is getting to be a pain. We enjoyed our supper at La Macarena with Linda and Hazel.

5-Wed-We did all the routine morning things. Then I started a quilt for Mariana (great granddaughter). I did continue to help Steve with his music off and on. I made chili for supper.

6-Thu-After my shower today I worked on cutting up jeans and planning the baby quilt. So today it was computer and sewing work. Supper was chicken parm, baked potato, green beans and berries.

7-Fri-Today we were off to Stillwater after we got around. I need to get an Apple card so Steve can buy more music. Then we got groceries at the Walmart Neighborhood Market. We unloaded all our groceries and I finished the quilt top for Mariana. Also I paid some bills. We had cube steak, potato wedges and salad and berries for supper.

8-Sat-Today was game day with the family. I put out snacks and got things ready. We played Mexican Train. Kristi, John, Logan, Cielo and Mariana were here. We all went to La Macarena for supper.

9-Sun-Today we spent quite a bit of time watching the Superbowl. It was just the two of us. We did get a short walk in at half time. I made us a few snacks and supper was Cajun potato skins with salad. The Eagles beat the Chiefs!

10-Mon-Another routine day. We worked on the laundry and more on the music list. I paid some bills and we updated Quicken. Supper was meatloaf, baked potato, salad and berries.

11-Tue-It was cold this morning. So we hung out on the couch a little longer. Then I went to the eye doctor. I also stopped at Thorn’s for a birthday present for Linda. I went by her shop to find out what time we were going to supper. I guess we are old tonight because we are eating early, like 4:30. We had the dessert churros to celebrate Linda’s birthday.

12-Wed-We woke up to SNOW! It was cold. I am not too fond of cold weather. I guess I just putzed around and Steve worked on his music list. I made Chicken Vegetable Soup for supper.

13-Thu-Another cold day. We did more of the same. I did shop a little. I got some Valentine’s presents and picked up the mail. Supper was sloppy joes, fries and berries. 

14-Fri-After getting around we headed to Stillwater. We got gas and went to Walmart for groceries. Again, it was cold and windy. We celebrated Valentine’s Day with each other. I also made pork loin, couscous, salad and berries for supper.

15-Sat-I got up late. about 8:30 of 9:00. I worked on the blog and Steve continues to refine his music stick and list. Later we did our errands around town: Braums, Homeland, Mail. 

More Snow!

January 16- 31, 2025 Getting through January

16-Thu-Today I worked on catching up the blog. Steve worked on the battery in the RV. After lunch we went out to a friends house to help him understand his new to him RV. We were home by 2:30. Then we worked on our battery in the RV. It seems to have a short. We might have found it. We did take a short walk about 4:30. Supper was chicken piccata (from Costco) and couscous and berries. The chicken piccata was not great. I am not buying that again. The picture looked much better than the outcome. 

17-Fri-Today we  did our usual morning stuff. Then it was off to Walmart. We put away our stuff and had lunch. We got an email about more money needed for the roof. So I talked to the guy and he said maybe the office had not contacted the insurance company yet. OK, we will wait and see. Tonight we watched the KC Chiefs beat the Houston Texans. We had fish and frees for supper.

18-Sat-I was up at 7 ish this morning. We worked on the music list off and on. I made chili for supper. 

19-Sun-This morning after showered and other morning chores we watched You Tube videos. The Eagles beat Buffalo and the Ravens beat the Rams. I made stuffed potato skins for supper.

20-Mon-I got up about 8 AM, Steve got up earlier. We did laundry and worked on the music list. It’s Martin Luther King Day and Trumps inauguration. Our weather was very cold, 16°! We had breakfast for supper.

21-Tue-Another routine day. We both worked on the computer on different projects. I am trying to finish 2024 on my blog. Later I put on You Tube and did indoor walking. We ate supper at The Boomerang with Linda and Hazel. 

22-Wed-We got up and dressed a little earlier today. We left at 10 AM  for Stillwater. I had a dermatology appointment. It was all good. We also stopped at Ulta for hair spray. When we got back to Perry we made stops at the post office and Homeland. After supper I listened to the Glacier Book Club about Disturbing The Sleeping Buffalo. Supper was Chicken Vegetable Soup and Berries. 

23-Thu-Today was a pretty routine day. We both worked on the computer this morning. I paid some bills and then updated Quicken. We took a very short walk today. I also killed some time looking at RVs for sale on the computer. Supper was Hashbrown Hamburger Helper.

24-Fri-It was 20° this morning. In my opinion that is just too cold. we let it get a little warmer and then headed to Walmart at Stillwater for groceries. The temperature got up to 50° today. We ate leftovers for supper and I also roasted some cauliflower. 

25-Sat-Today was another slow day. I did some de-cluttering and helped Steve with his music list. Supper was pork chops, potatoes, salad and berries.

26-Sun-Today we watched football. The Eagles beat the Commanders and the Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills. So now the Super Bowl is between the Eagles and the Chiefs. Supper was sloppy joes, french fries, salad and berries. 

27-Mon-Today we did chores. Taking out trash and tending to laundry. We were able to take a walk. I guess we putzed around with other stuff too. 

28-Tue-Today is another routine day. We did take a nice walk today. In addition we rant some errands downtown. I talked to both my sisters Pam and Marsha today.  Supper was at La Macarena with Linda and Hazel.

29-Wed-The weather is gloomy and cool today. We did computer work today including paying bills and catching up Quicken. For supper I made chicken enchiladas accompanied by salad, chips and later berries. 

30-Thu-We were off to OKC today. We arrived at 10:30 or so. Steve gets his shots for his back today. Then we drove to Kristi’s in Yukon and visited until John got off work. We all went to Cheddars for lunch, spent $80 +$16 (tip) for the four of us. We also ordered an appetizer, so that increased the total.We stopped at Walmart for printer ink and then drove home. Supper was leftover chicken enchiladas, baked chips and berries.

31-Fri-we got around and got stuff ready to go to Stillwater VA. Steve has his primary care appointment today. He was fasting so they could draw labs. We waited in the lobby then saw the nurse, back to the lobby and then with the nurse practitioner. She is retiring so next year he will have a new primary care provider. When he was done we went to Walmart for groceries and then home. We unloaded our supplies and had lunch. Supper was roast, potatoes, carrots and berries.

January seemed extra long, maybe due to the cold weather. Hoping February goes faster!
