Monday, August 28, 2017 Eastcreek Campground

We took some pictures of this lovely little campground this morning. Even though this is a very pretty place - I doubt I would stay here again - the rules state not to use your air conditioner - that is not in our equation. If we need the air conditioner, we will use it! And we did - so we defied the rules. As a rule Steve needs air conditioning due to his Multiple Sclerosis. We paid close to $40/night so if we need it we will use it! They do have fair wifi here - but I have no cell signal.

This sign about Mount Rainier was in a roadside pullout by Eatonville, WA. It gives good information on the mountain. We were going to go to the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park but it is supposed to get hot -- so we just drove up by it and looked the situation over. It might be fun - but we hate to leave our dogs for too long. We also considered driving the RV up tomorrow and parking it, running the generator for the dogs and let them stay in the RV. But that would be more backtracking. So we have decided to skip it on this trip - perhaps on a return trip we will take it in. We stopped at subway in Eatonville and got a sandwich then back to the RV. We watched some movies. There is a fire ban - so no campfire. We checked our tires, oil and all that good stuff tonight to be ready in the morning. We found one of the wheel covers had loose lug nut covers - so we removed it and Steve will replace them when we get home.

Sunday, August 27, 2017 Moving around

Today we are moving up the road a bit. We passed this old combine on our way in and out of the Thousand Trails Paradise RV park - I finally got a picture of it this morning as we were leaving.

We stopped for gas before we got too far. It was a short drive and we arrived about 12:45 and got checked in. They gave us a hand drawn map and we drove to our site (after unhooking the pickup). It fit nicely and was fairly level. We have water and electric in a lovely spot. Of course - no satellite TV, so we will watch movies. For some reason I thought this place had FHU - but I must have misremembered that part when I made a reservation. The name of this place is Eastcreek Campground in Mineral, WA. Steve is still not feeling great but we drove to a forest campground nearby - Big Creek and took a short hike - very nice.

We got gas on our way back and an ice cream sandwich at the campground office.
