March 1 - 15, 2025

1-Sat-It was a nice day today. After completing the morning chores we picked up the mail and stopped at Homeland. Later we cleaned our grill and played some corn hole. Supper was grilled turkey burgers, fries, salad and berries

2-Sun-We left for El Reno about 9:30 this morning. Steve is going to try to work on Austyn's car and get it going. Sky help him and then we took Austyn, Sky, Logan, Cielo and Mariana to Chelino’s for a late lunch. We were home by 4:30 PM.

3-Mon-We watched some TV and then got to work doing our laundry. Steve cleaned the windows in our bedroom. These were the main projects for the day. We ate pork chops, french fries, cabbage and berries for supper.

4-Tue-Our dog poopsie had an unsettled night. We both took showers to wake us up. Steve cleaned windows in the front room. I paid bills and worked on the blog. It was windy today. We went to eat at La Macarena, but they were closed due to trouble with their gas line. So a change of plans - we went to Boomerang with Linda and Hazel.

5-Wed-The main project today was getting the hood of the RV off.  Steve has to use some JB weld to re-attach the hinge that keeps the hood attached. I helped him by handing tools and holding item as needed. Then we worked on getting the window screens back on. There was one in the bedroom, two in the computer room, one in the sewing room and one in the kitchen. Finally we were finished. We did some before lunch and some after. It was windy in the morning but better in the afternoon. Supper was chicken vegetable soup.

6-Thu-We went to O’Reilly’s for JB Weld for the RV hood. Then we were off to Stillwater for gas and groceries. We got home and put all the stuff away. After lunch Steve put the goop together and put the hinge on the RV. Now it has to set up before we attach the hood to the hinge.

7-Fri-Today we went to Bartlesville to see Pam and JC. We visited with JC. Pam slept most of the time. Paige, Rachel and Knox came over. We got home about 5:30 PM. I fixed us turkey burgers, french fries and berries.

8-Sat-We started out with breakfast and a little TV. Then I worked on Mariana’s quilt. There was a break and then more quilt work. We went to La Macarena for Fajitas tonight.

9-Sun-We putzed around for awhile this morning. Then we made the bed and got dressed. I worked on the quilt. Later it was a little more relaxation. We had scrambled eggs with Canadian bacon and cheese for our supper.

10-Mon-We were up in good time this morning. We did laundry today and put the binding on the quilt today. Then we washed it. That was the final step to finish the quilt. I wanted to get it completed before we go on our trip. We had to order a part for the washing machine. Then Steve went to the chiropractor. His back has been bothering him a lot. Next we went to Stillwater and got new cushions for our outdoor swing. I also went to Hobby Lobby and got a birthday present for Hazel and there was a stop at Walmart for some items. We were home by 4:30. I renewed our KOA membership. We had pork roast, baked potatoes, salad and berries for supper.

11-Tue-We made reservations for at Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina. In addition we updated Quicken and paid bills. I got Hazel’s present wrapped. We celebrated Hazel’s birthday at La Macarena.

Hazel celebrating birthday!

Cushions for the Swing

12-Wed-Today we got the RV out for an oil change. And then filled up the RV with gas. We tried to get some propane at Tractor Supply but their equipment failed so we only got about 5 gallons.

13-Thu-We did all the routine things. We aired up the RV tires. Steve fixed the hood on the RV.  Then we checked the fluids on the RV. Steve also fixed the washer. We went to Linda’s shop, Homeland and the post office, then back home. Supper was cube steak, french fries, cabbage, berries.

Full Moon

14-Fri-We were up about 7:15 this morning. Steve went to the chiropractor. Then we picked up the mail and gassed up the pickup. We went through the car wash to get the pickup nice and clean. Then we let Steve rest his back. The guy texted us back about mowing the yard - that is good. It was very windy today. There were many wildfires around Oklahoma. There was a bad one at Stillwater, which is only 25 miles from us. Scary!

A few pictures of the burned area near Stillwater.

15-Sat-After getting around we started packing the RV. We washed some clothes. Steve cleaned the windows on the RV. Later we changed clothes and left for Stillwater. Tonight is a surprise birthday party for Hazel. We ate supper at Boomerang in Stillwater  with Linda and Wes. The Boomerang was near the event center. We had just sat down and Wes and Linda pulled in so they joined us. We had a good time at the birthday party.

March 1 - March 13, 2022 It's Either in Like a Lion and Out Like a Lamb or Just the Opposite!

Tuesday (1st) We got up and dressed. After breakfast we started packing the RV. We finished about 11:00 or so and then Steve took a shower. We were ready to get on the road. We stopped at Bill's Corner (12 mi east of town) so Steve could fix the mirror. Then Steve turned onto the wrong highway - but we got turned around right away. We headed north on 177 toward Ponca City and about 11 or 12 miles down the road we had no power. The RV was barely moving. So Steve got us off the highway and started looking around for a problem. He had to remove the cover of the doghouse and fiddle around with some stuff. It seemed like a fuel issue. Anyway - he finally got it running - so we turned around and went home to work on it. Thank goodness we were able to get it going and back home. We didn't need a tow truck! Steve started researching the problem while I unloaded the RV. After he had a good idea what the problem might be, we went to O'Reilly's and bought a code reader.
A lovely old barn

This barn has been around for awhile.

Love taking pictures of old barns

Wednesday (2nd) We got up and around this morning. I was on the computer getting Going to The Sun Road entrance tickets on recreation.gov and Steve was researching the codes that came up on the RV problem. About 10:45 we left for Bartlesville and arrived at 1:00 PM. We stopped outside of Pawhuska at Casey's and used the restroom and got some scratch off tickets. I think we won $4! We went out to eat at Chili's with Pam & JC. Then we visited with Pam while JC went to a caregiver meeting and later to choir. We got home about 9:45 PM and went to bed soon after.  Thursday (3rd) Today we started a little  slow then got around. The problem with the RV is the Throttle actuator control and a sensor. We went to O'Reilly's to get a gasket and order a part. Also we bought some cleaner for the sensor. Steve worked on the RV Park. After lunch he moved the refrigerator (in the house) to clean out a fan underneath, so it would keep working. Then it was back to the RV for more work and get the part - air flow sensor. So our little trip was put on hold until things are operating better. Friday (4th) Today we picked up the gasket and went to Walmart for groceries. We were back home by 1:15 PM. As we were unloading groceries, our dog, Poopsie came running out to see us. I started to pick her up and tripped on a concrete crack and fell down kind of landing on top of her (but not squishing her). Anyway we were both kind of hurt, but not seriously. Steve fixed the RV and put on the sensor and the throttle body actuator. Then we relaxed. Saturday (5th) Today we took it easy most of the day. I pad a few bills and we putzed around the house. We did take two walks today. Sunday (6th) Today was chilly again! It rained in the afternoon. Today was mostly an inside day.
Monday (7th) Another pretty cold day  27º in the morning and 39º at 5:30. So we did our laundry and some household chores. Tuesday (8th) After the routine things and lunch, I ordered Covid tests. Then we checked in with H & R Block to see if we needed to file taxes - no need. Yea! I had found some clothes to donate and we dropped them off at Operation Blessing. We also visited with Linda and picked up our mail. We enjoyed our supper at La Macarena and celebrated Hazel's birthday a little early! Wednesday (9th) Today we drove the RV to Stillwater for a test drive. Steve drove the RV and I followed him in the pickup. While we were there we did grocery shopping. The RV did great and we had no problems. Thursday (10th) Another cold day with a wind chill of 19º! So it was an inside day -did some bill paying and other putzing around stuff. Friday (11th) Today we had snow in the morning and again more cold weather. We listened to the Dear Bob and Sue Podcast during lunch. Our snow melted by 1:00 PM. We decided, it's cold! Too cold for fun! Saturday (12th) It was 18º at 7 AM! So we stayed inside until after lunch. We walked the dogs around the square downtown - so they wouldn't get cabin fever! LOL Steve also cleaned the RV Windows. Sunday (13th) One of the first things we did today was change the clocks. Today is Spring Forward Day! As the day went on , we started packing the RV and doing laundry. We are going to leave tomorrow for El Reno. It is Spring Break in Oklahoma and we are going to help Logan look for a vehicle.
