Tuesday, August 1, 2017 Anacortes, Causland, Museum in La Conner
Today we went on a nice morning walk with the dogs then left them at the RV while we were going to a museum. We put something in the GPS and it took us to Anacortes - so we looked at the Big Boats, house and their museum. We also saw neat Park - Causland Park. We went into another clear market/hardware/antique store and looked around. I got a neat souvenir - a message in a bottle kit - cute box.
Then we went to La Conner - where the museum I want to see was located - it cost $5.00 each and we toured it. It had lots of well done displays but not as much information about fishing, maritime and native American stuff as I wanted to see. No pictures were allowed. Today I did some bill paying also. Later we loaded up the dogs and returned to La Conner and got ice cream - they were so happy!
Austyn received her present today (TV). Her other present - Batman tennis shoes - will not get there until mid-August.
Wrapping up July

Today we went to the Lodge and updated apps and software on the phone and iPad. I caught up the blog. This was time consuming because of slow wifi.
This evening and night I had very bad Lower left quadrant pain in my abdomen - severe. I took some ibuprofen and antibiotics and went to bed - I had chills and then sweating. I think it was diverticulitis from eating crunchy peanut butter. Not sure - could have been a bug of some type- but I was miserable.

Still having pain but it is moving day so - going at it slowly. Took more antibiotics. Walked the dogs. We left Bow Thousand Trails (they call it Mount Vernon). I drove the pickup to the dump station and Steve followed. He took care of that chore - then I drove the pickup to the Casino and parked it. I got in the RV with Steve and we went and got gas. Then we returned to the pickup and hooked it up at the Casino. We were on the road to LaConner Thousand trails - about 20 miles away.
When we arrived, found out that nearly every site was taken. Finally we found one site that we might fit into so we put a sign on the electric pole and went back for the RV (by the gate). We got on our phones and Steve very carefully maneuvered the RV into position.
We had to fold in the mirror on the right side and I watched the right front and right rear. Trees are everywhere. Dust - is everywhere - its like Pigpen - a cloud of dust surrounds everything. The leaves on the trees are dusty. Well anyway, we managed , no choice. I am not interested in returning here (La Conner) unless we can find a bigger, better site - also no sewer and unable to get Satellite TV. There is actually some kind of lottery system (put your name on a list) in order to get a site that had sewer or where you can receive satellite TV. Weird. So then we rested. later we drove to Deception Pass State park and walked the beach, listened to waves and looked at driftwood. Then we drove down to Whidbey Island - and got some ice cream and just took in a few sites.

Today I feel better but we didn't do much. We drove to La Conner and saw their marina and Mount Baker in the distance. Next we drove to Anacortes and found a nice flat trail at Mount Erie. There was a statue called Guardian of the Mount - neat. We walked around on a boulder and just enjoyed the lack of people.

Today is Austyn's 15th birthday. So we tried to call her - no answer. Then we tried her mom - no answer. So we decided to call later. I worked on reservations this morning also. We took the dogs on a nice long walk on the beach at the campground and saw the Lone Tree and other stuff - shells, driftwood.
Later we went to a Flea Market and got some old movies. We saw an old truck that looked like an RV.
We also got some fresh fruit, then back to the RV. We called Austyn and sang Happy Birthday to her! The day ended better than it started.
