April 1 - 15, 2023 Is It Spring Yet?

April 1 - Saturday - Today I worked on the computer and ordered some items I needed. We watched Men's Basketball, the Final Four. One game was very exciting and the other one wasn't. Sunday - 2nd - I helped Steve work on music. We got rid of boxes in the garage and I did other routine things. Monday -3rd It warmed up to 89° today - rather hot for April. Steve was working on the music stick for the RV. I paid some bills and listened to RV budgeting. Steve picked up the mail and we received our invitations to Logan's graduation and Kristi and John's wedding. We also watered our yard and did a load of laundry. For supper, we picked up pizza from Simple Simon's.

It was Hot today!

Tuesday 4th - I got up late. So after I got around I was off to the beauty shop to get a perm . Then we had leftover pizza for lunch. We  loaded up both our dogs and took them to the vet for their annual checkup. When they got home - they rested and didn't feel great. I guess those shots make them lethargic. We ate supper at La Macarena and it was yummy as usual. Wednesday - 5th - It was 39° this morning. Steve had an appointment at Stillwater to see an orthopedic doctor about his hip. He was seen through the Community Care program through the VA. The doctor said his hip was good. He does not need a hip replacement. Then we were off to Walmart Market to shop for groceries. We had lunch at home after unloading the supplies. Steve went back to work on the music. I talked to my sister, Marsha. Also, Tony Powell texted us to see if we had any tornados in our area. We were lucky and did not have tornadoes here. Thursday 6th - We had pretty routine stuff today. We did take our RV Engine battery to O'Reilly's to check it. They said it is OK and just need more charging. So we put it on the battery charger at home. I am also still doing home PT for my shoulder. Friday - 7th - Today we did errands around town. We picked up some plastic Easter eggs, candy and cash. We decided we would make up an Easter egg hunt for the grown grandkids. About 5 PM Logan called us and  he got his vehicle totaled avoiding a wreck! He was safe but his vehicle is scrap now. I made chicken enchiladas tonight. They were good.

Saturday - 8th- We did our usual morning routine. Then we did some yard work. I mowed and Steve did weeds.  After lunch we stuffed the plastic eggs with cash and candy. Then we straightened the kitchen and did a few other chores. Sunday 9th - Easter. I was up at 8:00 and put the turkey breast in the oven to cook. The kids arrived about 9:30 or 10:00 AM and we hid the eggs so the young adults could hunt them. It was fun and they were happy with the cash and candy in their eggs. We fixed the rest of our Easter Dinner and ate. The best part was Angel Food Cake with fresh Strawberries and Strawberry Ice Cream! Then we sat around and relaxed. They all had to go home  because they work! Logan is borrowing my car - since his got wrecked.

Monday 10th - We were up early today (6:30) and headed to Stillwater by 7:30. We had to wait for the doctor in Outpatient waiting for Steve's procedure. He got a steroid injection in his hip. We were home by  10:30 and worked on laundry. We worked on the computer this afternoon. Tuesday 11th - Today after breakfast I did my home PT and putzed around. In the afternoon I helped Steve on the computer with the music. I skipped Book Club tonight and we went to Logan's soccer game at Guthrie. We were able to eat early with Hazel and Linda at La Macarena.

Wednesday 12th - We were up early again. After we had our breakfast we got the RV out and drove it to Stillwater for four new back tires. I led the procession in the pickup. Our first order of business after dropping off the RV was to get Steve a new white shirt for the wedding and some dressy shoes for me. After that, we hung out at Boomer Lake until the RV was ready to go. We picked up the RV about Noon and headed back home. The afternoon was spent hanging out and relaxing.

Thursday 13th - Today we took the RV to get the oil changed. Then we went to the car wash and Steve washed the RV. Our afternoon was spent taking it easy. Friday 14th - We were up in fairly good time today. After our routine morning things I completed my home PT. About 3:30 we left for Yukon and then on to El Reno. It was Senior  Night for soccer and so we wanted to be there and watch Logan get recognized. The game was over about 8:45 and we all went to Hideaway pizza for a late supper. We didn't get home til 11:30 PM. That's late for older folks!

Saturday 15th- Today is Logan's birthday. So we did our usual morning routine. Then I did my PT. We got dressed and left the house about 4:15 to return to Oklahoma City. We met up the Kristi & John, Austyn & Sky, and Logan and Cielo for supper at Texas Roadhouse. Logan is now 18! Where does the time go? We headed to Yukon and had cake and ice cream at Kristi's and then headed home. We got home earlier tonight, about 8:30. The rest of the gang was going to a movie. We passed on that.

August 22 - August 31, 2022 Finishing Up August and Celebrating My Birthday!

Monday (22) We had hair appointments for today, but Melissa called and hd to change the appointment. The water was shut off at the shop because of remodeling. I made a few other calls to take care of business and that was the highlight of the day. Tuesday (23) We were up a little late today. We got around and dressed. We did not do any chores today - because everything was fine. We loaded up the laundry and went to town. We were back to the RV about 1:00 and had lunch. This evening we walked to the stop sign for a second walk.

Beautiful   Sunset

I need a haircut!

Wednesday (24) Today after we finished our walk the electricity was off. We did the chores and then the electricity came back on about 11:00 AM. We had some rain during the day. Steve and I went to Kalispell and he bought me some new shoes for my birthday. Then we hit up Walmart for supplies. We had lunch when we got back to the RV. Later the satellite dish went off - so no TV for a while. I believe we took a nap. At 10:30 PM there were no cars in the parking lot! Yea! It's really nice when everyone leaves.

My new shoes!

Deer up on the loop. We saw them when we walked.

Thursday (25) Today was another routine day. We were not busy. so we hung out and took it easy. Supper tonight was Taco Salad. Friday (26) Today is my Birthday. It's a beautiful day and 76° with some overcast skies. We got dressed and had our breakfast. After our walk we loaded up the pickup with the dogs and some snacks and headed north. We are on my birthday excursion to Polebridge Mercantile for lunch and huckleberry bear claws and a few cookies (for the boss). We had a great drive and lunch. I appreciated the texts and calls I received wishing me a Happy Birthday. When we got back to the RV, we noticed a paddleboat down by the dock. After investigating, we found a noted indicating they it was free to anyone who wanted it.

Adorable Dog - I could not resist taking his picture

Lunch - way too much but really good.

Saturday (27) It rained overnight, which is good. We always need rain. It was also windy all day. That is a little unusual for here, but we can deal with it because we are from Oklahoma, where it is windy most of the time. Tony was down here again today and we gave him some cookies. He brought a brush for our outdoor toilet - but it did not have a handle - and that is the part we need. We told him about our adventure yesterday and then he was on his way. When we walked the dogs at 3:30 PM we looked up the hill and saw two trees down in the road north of the gate. We got them cleared with the help of two guys from the loop. They came down with their chainsaw and cut up the bigger one that Steve couldn't cut with his limb saw. Some people are really helpful!

Sunday (28) We did all the routine things. Then we putzed around When we checked the dock mid afternoon - there was an older guy in a Kayak just laying in it. He seemed to be struggling. And a lady was trying to help him up. We finally asked them if they needed assistance. But he said he had a bad back and would be OK in a bit. We weren't too sure about that- we thought he might have been a little under the influence of something. Also some young kids had loaded the free paddleboat up and were going to take it home and try to fix it. Yea! We don't have to haul it to the dump.

This homemade truck camper belongs to the guy we were worried about.

Monday (29) So today was another routine day. We didn't start doing much until about 10 AM. Our highlight was going to the grocery store at Bigfork. Tuesday (30) We did all the things. Then we got ready to go to town to get haircuts. If I remember, next year, I am going to make hair appointments earlier in the summer. While we were in town we washed the pickup, got gas and groceries. Then it was back to the RV. We relaxed a bit and visited with Sydney when she came by. She brought us a handle for our toilet brush - but it didn't fit either.

New Haircut

Wednesday (31) After doing the chores  we visited with  Hazel about when to mail our last batch of meds and mail. She is going on a trip in September so she will send our mail before she goes. In the afternoon Steve & I went to Kalispell so  I could get a steroid shot in my shoulder. My appointment was at 3:30 and I arrived early and we were back home by 4 PM.

Oct 29 - November 9, 2019 Life at Home

Oct. 29 - Tuesday
Today I returned to Ponca City for my Bone Density test. This is an easy test. You lay on a table fully dressed and they scan (?) the hips and pelvic area. Sure reminded me of Bones on Star Trek. When it was over, Steve and I met Cecelia at The Perk for lunch.  Before that we checked out Brace Books. They have so many nifty things in there. Besides books, they have a wide assortment of cooking gadgets, children's toys, clothes, purses, scarves, candles and other sundry items.  The weather today was yucky and so Linda and Hazel didn't want to go out to eat. We ate at home and watched a weird movie on Amazon- The Poison Rose - I don't recommend it.

Oct 30 - Wednesday
Steve and I figured out that we had missed his sister's birthday (Oct 28) by a few days. So we picked up a gift card and mailed it to her. She lives in Arkansas, so hopefully she gets it soon.  When I was getting some cheese out of the refrigerator today, I tweaked my back - a muscle   I think. So I put the heat pad on it and took it easy. It snowed very lightly this afternoon.
Very light snow!

Oct 31 - Thursday
Happy Halloween! Today was a very mundane day for us. We did some bill paying and bookkeeping. Later we did a few errands: picked up the mail, got the oil changed on the pickup and went to the Dollar Store. I exchanged some texts with Kristi about bringing the car up Saturday so we can take care of it's oil change. We didn't have trick or treaters because for the last few years, no one showed. Here in Perry, most of the kids go around the square and then don't hit up the neighborhoods. So a few years back, we quit trying to hand out any candy and don't turn on our porch light. Poof! No trick or treaters.

November 1 -9
When we are here at home, daily posts are somewhat  boring. So I was just going to start trying to hit the highlights.
We (mainly Steve) cleaned the house a little and have checked on Kristi's car - still not ready.  The oil was changed on my car and we ate at Pizza Hut. OSU (OK State) beat TCU. We have turned our clocks back and completed the new Jack Ryan season on Prime. I love that show - it is exciting!
We watched football on Sunday, the teams we were rooting for won - Steelers and Broncos.
We did  a project: we made quilted dash mat for the RV.  Some of the materials, I had on hand, others we had to make trips to Stillwater to obtain.
Dash Mat

We watch a lot of football on weekends and sometimes Monday and Thursday night too.

For people interested in RVing, Full Time Freedom Week started during this time, so we have been watching their videos. I bought an annual pass - so we have a year to watch them.  I bought a pass last year also. Even though we have RV'd for several years - we still pick up tips and learn new things!
One of our Tuesday night suppers with Linda & Hazel we decide to go to Morrison and eat steak fingers at the cafe there. They were great!
Steve got new shoes, which is somewhat of an ordeal for him, because his feet are long and narrow. Finding a good fit is difficult.
On the nice afternoons we have been going to CCC Lake and walking, or walking in the neighborhood. On Saturday the 9th - we drove down to Lake McMurtry and explored. It costs $6 for a day pass and there are a ton of wasps at the pay station (iron ranger). It was nice to check it out, but probably won't return unless we are camping. These are pictures taken at Lake McMurtry on the West side (Perry Side).

That pretty much wraps up the highlights.
I am trying to catch up  the blog and decide whether to do it weekly or twice a month.  I'll probably just do it once or twice a month while we are at home. Then if we do something exciting, I can blog more frequently.
