October 1 - 15, 2024 Arriving Home and Getting into the Groove

1- Tue-We got up and had breakfast, then walked the dogs. Steve washed the RV windows and checked the oil. We unhooked the utilities and hooked up the pickup to the RV. We wanted to get home before it got any hotter. We got to Perry about noon and unhooked the pickup. We put the tow bar in the RV and I drove the pickup home to open the gate for Steve. He  drove th RV home and then we rested. We took showers and ran a lot of hot water! We unpacked some of our stuff. Then we joined Linda and Hazel at La Macarena for supper! What a great trip!

2-Wed-We worked on unloading the RV. We focused on getting the food and clothes unloaded. Then we did some laundry. I had to go to the bank to cash  birthday checks and deposit the house insurance check. We took the car through the car wash. Later we pick up burgers at McDonald’s for lunch. 

3-Thu-Today we worked on laundry. Next on the agenda was to update Quicken and pay some bills. We rested some. I went to the beauty shop, checked the mail. I also went to the eye doctor to get some sample contacts, because the ones I had this summer kept tearing. We also stopped at Homeland. When we got home we relaxed and watched TV. Supper was Taco salad and berries.

4-Fri-After we had breakfast we headed for Walmart about 10:30 and were home by 12:30. After lunch we watched some TV. The roof guy looked at the shed. I took a nap. Then I finished putting entries in Quicken. Kristi and Austyn came up for the weekend and we all went to La Macarena for supper.

5-Sat-Happy Anniversary to us! We have been married 22 years. We all took it slow this morning and visited with Kristi. My team, Oklahoma State lost their football game again. I fixed Cajun Potato Skins for supper and we all went to Braum’s for ice cream after supper.

6-Sun-Today Steve, Kristi and Austyn unloaded the pickup. It was nice that they helped Steve, because that is a big job. Later we watched football and Dallas won. 

7-Mon-We did our usual morning routine and then we mowed the front yard. We had to go to Tractor Supply for weed eater string and also pickup up the mail. At home we worked on our bank reconciliations. We visited with Irene. 

8-Tue-After breakfast we took a walk. Then we worked on pulling weeds out of the flower beds. Steve also did some weed eating. I went to Linda’s to get my hair colored. Then we were home for lunch. Steve checked out his power washer - it was not working too well. We joined Linda and Hazel for supper at La Macarena. 

9-Wed-We walked and did some work on pulling weeds and getting the water hose fixed. The power washer wasn’t working right so we went to the hardware store for some parts-could not find exactly what we need. That is about the way things go.

10-Thu-This morning we worked on washing the white plastic fence. It had greenish/brownish mold on it. We scrubbed and scrubbed and made it look better. Later we watched football. After 10 PM we drove out of town to look for the Northern Lights. We got a few pics with the iPhone but otherwise they were hard to see.

11-Fri-This morning we went to Walmart and were home by 11:00 AM. After lunch I paid some bills and reconciled my bank account. Later we got our Covid shots at the Perry Event Center. 

12-Sat-We did our walk and worked on some outside chores. Then we watched football. We had breakfast for supper. Yum!

13-Sun-Today was more football. We also dumped our RV fresh water tank and heater. I worked on figuring out our travel expenses. 

14-Mon-After our usual morning routine we walked and did laundry. I also worked on the blog. Steve worked outside pulling weeds on the outside of the fence in back of the house

15-Tue-After breakfast and getting ready we drove to McBride. I had an appointment to check out my right hip. We arrived at 9:00 AM and got in early. I had an Xray and exam with the PA. He said my hip joint is fine. It’s probably a ligament or maybe my hamstring. Anyway we had lunch with Kristi at Granny’s Kitchen. Then Steve and I went to Target and drove home. We ate out again at La Macarena for supper.
