May 1 - May 15, 2019

May 1 - was routine in the morning - YMCA for Mary and PT for Steve. Later we went to Walmart for groceries - how exciting. Thursday the 2nd of May we went to OKC VA and had Steve's lab work done and picked up some meds fo summer. We also talked to the patient advocate regarding the back injections Steve was supposed to ge through TriWest. We had lunch at Wendy's and then went home. Friday, the 34d it rained! We watched some TV and I walked around our neighborhood. Steve went to PT.  It was a slow day - too much rain! On Saturday, May 4th we got around and went to Enid. I shopped at Dillard's and we celebrated JC's birthday. We had Supper at The Patio in Enid a Mexican food place. We also watched the Kentucky Derby - and were not pleased with the way that ended. We had a nice visit and then returned home. On Sunday (5th) We mowed the front yard and later the back yard. Cooper cam by and we talked to him about the summer mowing. Not a whole lot else.
Monday - May 6 - Oh wow - the sleep was not happening. Zoey kept whining, the storm came, the satellite TV went out (no way to monitor the storm). Then the computer backup unit wouldn't stop beeping, the electricity went out and I had a bad cramp in my left thigh. Finally I got about 2 house of sleep. Steve might have got 3 -34 hours of sleep. We had to get up at 4 AM to go to OKC for his kidney stone procedure. We left at 5 Am and arrived at VA at 6:25 AM - before the outpatient surgery was even open. It wasn't long thought and they took Steve to a tiny room to prep him for the surgery. The doctors kept streaming in and out - He was in surgery at 8:25 and in recovery at 10:15. We got to leave at 1:00 PM. We came home and stopped at Braum's then home for sleep. The doctor said they broke the stones up, left in a stent for any small piece to come out. He has to return in 3 - 4 weeks for a CT and get the stent out. I told him we want to go to Montana - they will try to work with us.
Tuesday - the 7th - was basically a recovery day  -and we got that follow-up with Urology set up. We also went to supper with Linda & Hazel. Then we had to watch out for storms the rest of the evening.
Wedesday was routine. Thursday, May 9, I decided to shampoo the carpet in the house - the old machine was not good - so we went to Stillwater and got a new one. When we got home the work started. Shampooing the carpet makes my back hurt- so I was glad to get it over with. Friday Was pretty routine - but I did vacuum and go to the YMCA. Steve also did PT again. We got Parker's graduation present ready  and talked with our boss guy in Montana. He said getting there by the 7th of June or so would be fine.  So we still have our volunteer workampers job! May 11, Saturday - we got around and drove to Bartlesville for Parker's graduation. We left about 11 AM and got home about 6:15PM.  Sunday we did a little yard work and then drove to OKC to meet with Kristi and the kids for Mother's Day supper. We had a nice visit and got home about 9:30 PM. The following Monday and Tuesday were routine. We did go to Texas Roadhouse in Stillwater and Linda & Hazel bought us supper to celebrate Mother's Day! Nice! Wednesday the 15th of May was just routine stuff again.

An Update April 16 - April 30, 2019

The time seems to meander along, then all of a sudden, bam!  Time to do something!
Tuesday the 16th we went to Walmart for supplies and then we took the doggies to the vet for their checkups. They were fine and got all their shots completed. The vet checked them for heart worms (negative) and suggested we start them on preventative - and so we did.  Both dogs were a little sore after they we got home - so we helped them rest. Wednesday - the 17th we were up and around early, left for the OKC VA at 8:15 and arrived in their parking lot at 9:20. Steve had and EKG, and lab work. Next we met   with the pre-op nurse and he got some X-rays.  We settled in for a break at the cafeteria until it was time for his ultrasound of the thyroid. When that was done we returned home. Thursday we  had haircuts and I got a color. Slow day. On Friday, April 19 Steve met with the Physical Therapy (PT) guy here in Perry and set up appointments.    In addition we got the oil changed in the RV. Also we called Tri West about his back shots - the beginning of the saga. Steve spent some of Saturday working on the vent in the pickup. Later we drove to Pam & JC's for supper and a celebration of my niece, Paige's birthday (Early).  We got home about 9 PM.
On Easter Sunday (4-21), we mowed the front and side yards (north of our fence). We also did laundry, changed the oil in the RV generator and Steve washed my car. The oil filter was almost impossible to get out - but Steve finally got it done. Steve also worked on our heater vent. Monday I went to then YMCA and Steve went to PT. Later we took our pickup to Stillwater for shocks and brakes. While we were there, I bought a new fitbit  - a Charge 3 HR. Now I can tell if my heart is beating! We also had lunch at Red Lobster! Nice outing.
Tuesday, April 23, we went to Ponca City for my 6 month doctor appointment and to have labs drawn. He wanted me to have other tests: bone density, Colonoscopy - but I said let's do that in the fall when I return from Montana. We ate a nice lunch at Schlotzky's. We then detoured through Stillwater to get our pickup and later had supper with Linda & Hazel.
Wednesday was not much and Thursday I had Linda give me a permanent. I also spent two hours on the phone with Tri west, trying to get Steve's back injections arranged and got the run around! Friday brought another trip to Stillwater for a Walmart run and get a medical release signed at Stillwater VA Clinic.  Then Steve's part for the pickup vent arrived. Saturday he spent most of the day working on installing the vent part. My friend, Kellie & her fella, Brad were here watching softball, so we took them to La Macarena for supper and had a great visit. Sunday, April 28 was cool so we sat around in the morning, then Steve was back at working on his pickup. He had a little asthma attack and rushed into the house. I got him the inhaler and made him rest. We sprayed weeds later and then had supper and TV.  Monday was more routine: laundry, PT, YMCA, lunch.  I tried to call about the back injections again - to no avail.  Tuesday, April 30, again I called Tri West. No progress. We typed up a timeline of the process and just got frustrated. We had supper with the girls and then came home and watched TV.
