June 3, 2019 Monday Day 4 of Trip

We left Casper, WY about 9:45. At Sheridan WY we stopped for gas, lunch and to walk the dogs.  We saw these cute Carnival bears!

Mountains with snow- pretty!
Carnival Bears!

Pronghorn - hard to see.
We got back on the road and Steve got sleepy. So he pulled over and I drove about 45 miles, until we got close to Billings, Montana, where Steve drove again. We decided on the KOA at Billings. We have stayed here before - it is expensive - but so is the one next to it. We got a pull through site with full hook-ups. After resting we washed all the towels and did some more cleaning in the bathroom from our overflow. The bathroom drawers are messed up - they got wet and we didn't know it. So they swelled up and don't want to go in or out. Steve finally got them out - will work on fixing them later. We are not on a leisurely trip this year. We left late and are in a hurry to arrive at our workcamp site.
After we go the towels washed, we had ice cream, then a snack instead of supper.
Next we played miniature golf ($15.00).
Final Hole - Miniature Golf

After that we got back to the RV and finished our day.

Jun 2, 2019 Sunday, Day 3 of Trip

We got up, dressed and took the dogs for a quick stroll. Next we ate the pancake breakfast at the KOA.

Logan by a telephone booth at KOA East - Denver
Steve washed the windows, we unhooked the utilities and were on our way about 9:20. We made it through Denver without any problems - great. About noon we stopped at the Southeast Wyoming rest stop and walked the dogs, stretched.  This is a nice rest stop with places for RV's to park and room to walk. We were back on the road soon.  About 1:30 we stopped and got gas - a higher octane to make the RV pull those hills and mountains better.
Snow on the mountains

Train - Glendo, WY
We also napped and when we woke up we got a root beer float. After that we moved on up the road to Casper, Wy and stayed as Casper East RV Park. We saw a Texas Roadhouse on our way in  and decided we would eat supper there. We parked and walked our dogs. Then the boys hooked up the utilities and unhooked the pickup so we could go out to eat.  I went back inside to get my purse and keys and found water backing up into the sink in the bathroom -poopy water flooding the floors. I ran out and got Steve and Logan - i was almost going berserk! What happened?  Steve was backflushing the black tank and forgot to turn off the water going into it. We got the water off - and cleaned up everything as best we could -- All the towels were wet! Oh My! When things were more or less under control we went to the Texas Roadhouse and had a great supper! I needed to hit Walmart for a few items - so we did that while we were out and then wback to the RV. I did my routine  filling the pill boxes tonight and took a shower.  We watched TV and called it a night.

June 1, 2019 Day 2 of Trip

WE got up about 8:00 and had our breakfast and got road ready. We gassed up (the pump was very slow) and it stopped at $100.00. Since it was so slow - we didn't run the credit card again - just decided to get on the road.  This guy was guarding the gas station!

Steve drove until he got tired - to about Colby, KS - then I started driving--all the way to Siebert, CO. We got more gas there and took a little break. Steve drove again and got tired again. So I drove when we had about 36 miles to go. I hadn't driven the RV sine 2017 - so I had a little learning curve and panic when the first few trucks went around me.  But, eventually I got in the groove. We stayed at Strasberg, CO KOA (East of Denver). We rested and took a short nap. About 5:30 we walked to a cafe across from the KOA and ate supper. Then we stopped by the office and got ice cream. We took the dogs on a nice walk after feeding them. We finished up the evening with a little TV.

May 31, 2019 Day 1 of Trip

We got up about 7 AM and had some breakfast. By 8 AM we were loading things into the RV. This took many trips and about 2 hours. Finally we were ready to put the satellite dish on top of the RV. Logan, with Steve's assistance accomplished this feat. Next Steve washed the windshield. Then we backed the RV out of the driveway. I went and got the mail in the pickup and Steve took a shower. When I got back, we put on the tow bar and hooked up the pickup.  OK - ready to roll.  We are pooped, it's hot and humid!  The dogs are so excited!  We are just thankful we got everything loaded and also the lights worked! Woo Hoo!
We gassed up before leaving Perry and then headed north. It cost $5.25 for the toll road. When we got to McPherson, KS - Steve looked so tired and I convinced him to stop at Love's and take a nap. We had about an hour layover. I was tired - but couldn't sleep, so I rested.  We planned to stop at Salina, KS - but it was full - so we drove to Russell, KS and stayed at Triple J RV Park - $35 cash for the night.  Full Hookups, but no cable or wifi.  That is fine.
We got parked and hooked up the electric and water. Then started cooling off.  The dogs took a walk with us also. Then we had supper at Fossil Creek pizzeria and pub - it was OK. The hamburger was pretty good - the pizza didn't look great to me. Then back to the RV to put in a call to Dish to get the satellite receiver turned on. Yea! It worked!  Thanks goodness!  Just typing this note and then resting.
I did not take any pictures today. But I love the views west of Salina, Kansas - big rolling hills with cattle enjoying their time.  It was a sunny day - even a little hot.  We are glad to see the sun -but it does make the RV a little hot.  We are moving out a little late this year. Oh Well- at least we get to go.

May 16 through May 30, 2019 Preparations for trip and Memorial Day

Thursday, the 16th of May we mowed the back yard and the part of the yard north of the fenced. I caught up Quicken - and played some Spider solitaire. Then we watched TV and took a short nap. Some salesman from Dish came to the door and the dogs went nuts!  The guy wanted us to change to Dish in the house - but we said not now - we are going on vacation soon. My sister Marsha called and said Tony's brother died today - sad. Friday we got around and I went to the YMCA while Steve did his physical therapy. I also sent some flowers to Marsha and Tony.  Steve & I both worked on the computer updating the phone we use fro music. Saturday brought Rain - so we watched TV. Finally we went out to CCC Lake and walked the dogs and took some flower pictures.

Sunday was routine - with the exception of going to Walmart for supplies. Tomorrow (20th) is supposed to be a tornado outbreak day for Oklahoma - Some schools around OKC are closed. Monday we did our exercises and watched the TV storm coverage most of the afternoon. We kept checking on family & friends. It was raining hard at 5:30 - 6:00 PM.  We also stayed in the bathroom two times - because the threat of a tornado was around.  Luckily we had finished our laundry earlier this morning. Tuesday, the 21st I was reminiscing about the good old days. Dimes and quarters for phone calls, Pockets in bras, losing my new wallet with $5.00 when I was 11 years old at the Woodward Elks Rodeo (on my birthday). We watched the flood coverage in the morning, then completed some errands - bank, mail, Linda's shop. We went to supper with Linda, Hazel and Kimber - this is when some of the recollections occurred. I saw a scissortial but couldn't get a picture of it, before it flew away. It was a very windy afternoon. I also recalled the story of Glenn & Bobby Craig with the deer in the back seat of a car that they hit, then the deer came back to it's senses and tore up the inside of the car. I was also remembering where we got our clothes. We used to get a Spiegel catalog and ordered our school clothes from it. I also made a lot of my clothes in high school. I suppose we also had hand me downs. I remember we always got a new outfit and new shoes at Easter every spring.  Wow, the things you remember.
Wednesday, the 22nd we were up and getting with it!  We watched a little TV then off to the Y and PT for me and Steve. Steve finished his PT (graduated) and was awarded a T-shirt. We ordered an exercise ball for Steve. I also paid some bills and caught up Quicken.  We again had to watch the weather from 4:30 to 6:30 and took shelter in the bathroom at 5:00 for a tornado warning! Nothing developed and that was fine with us. Thursday - we worked on the music phone some more- quite a while about 4 - 5 hours. Then we did a few errands. Friday we got up and it was raining. I am so tired of rain and stormy weather. Steve & I went to the YMCA and walked. Then we were back home and took a nap. Steve got his exercise ball and checked it out. Hazel & Wayne left for Hawaii today! Saturday we cleaned out some drawers in the RV for Logan to use when he goes on the trip with us. We drove to Stillwater and purchased Memorial Day flowers. El Reno had a tornado about 10:30 PM - and I texted Kristi before it hit-she and the kids got to a safe place in their house. IT was about a mile away from them. Then I was up watching storm stuff until 1:00 AM.  On Sunday, May 26, we did routine stuff and Kristi and the kids came so we visited.
Monday the 27th was Memorial Day. We all got up and around and headed to Enid then Haskew Cemetery and Woodward Cemetery. Marsha called when we got to Haskew so I talked to her then decorated graves. Nex we went to Woodward and found Nancy's grave with no problem. We ate lunch at Lupe's for lunch- good. Drove back to Lahoma and visited with my sister Pam at her school. Then we went on home. We ordered Pizza for supper and then watched a movie. After we got up Tuesday - we picked up limbs in the front yard and mowed. Logan helped Steve with the gutters. Next we mowed the back yard. We also did laundry. Then we were in the house to cool off.
Wednesday the 20th we left for the VA about 11:00 and got there at Noon. Steve had a CT scan and we returned home. We started gathering up stuff to load in the RV. Thursday, the 30th we got up at 7:00 AM, got around and left at 8:30 to go to the VA in OKC. We finally saw Urology doctor at 11:15. Steve still has a stone - it may pass- 50% change- wouldn't be able to have surgery until July 15. Ok to wait til October for stone removal. Then we met Kristi and Logan to Lunch at Toby Keith's Bar & Grill. It was pretty good - but not cheap. Next we went to Bass Pro and got a life jacket for Logan and a shirt for Steve. Then we went home and started loading stuff in the RV.  The plan is to leave tomorrow!
