June 22 - June 28, 2020 Hail Storm and More Fun

Monday- Jun 22
After our routine chores we went to town and did our laundry. We also cleaned the Bigfork access and picked up a mail package from Hazel. We had lunch at home and a short nap. Later we walked the dogs around the loop and sat outside. I fixed chicken and rice for supper and we also had yogurt and fruit. After some TV we let Logan drive us around on the back roads where we saw some deer! Then we went home.

Tuesday- Jun 23
This is WW Zoom meeting for me. So we walk the dogs and do the chores after that. I talked to my sister Pam and made calls for medication refills and a doctor's appointment. After lunch we drove to the forest and went to Peterson Creek, where we walked up a trail. It was kinda warm so we returned to the RV. For supper, we went to town for Pizza and stopped at the grocery store. Then Logan drove again.

Wednesday-Jun 24
Most days start with the same routine. After that, a rain came up this morning and we had to hustle to cover our firewood. After lunch, Steve was able to weed eat some because the rain stopped and it warmed up outside. Then we came inside and rested. Every time we tried to walk today it rained on us. We had a simple supper of turkey burgers, salad and beans. For dessert, we had a fiber one brownie. Later we had more RAIN! and A HAIL storm!  Wow that is an experience in the RV. The hail sounds so loud inside the RV.

Thursday - Jun 25
Today, in addition to our routine chores, we also hauled our trash off. Then we went to Kalispell and stopped at the FWP office to pick up gloves and a volunteer agreement for Logan. Next, we went to Walmart for groceries and other sundry items. I noticed more masks were being worn by the shoppers! Yea! After we got back to the RV and put away all the stuff, we rested. Later we went to town and cleaned the access site, the hardware store for weed-eater string and more groceries (to get stuff that was not in stock at Walmart). We ate fajita chicken, tortillas, salad, berries. Yummy. We finished our evening with TV.

Friday - Jun 26
We finished our routines and sat outside. I talked to both my sisters (Pam & Marsha). We had started lunch and Tony (our boss) showed up and measured the boat ramp. He may add some more concrete there. Then we finished our lunch and Tony was back to talk to an engineer guy. By 3 or 4 PM it got really packed with boaters, floater, fishermen, etc. I napped. Steve messed with the jack and the black tank. Then we went to town to eat Mexican food, because there was no room to park at the Flathead Brewing Co. Then back to the RV, we picked up the dogs and let Logan drive us on the back roads.

Saturday - Jun 27
We got up late - like about 10 AM. It was a deep clean for the outdoor latrine this morning, including dragging the hose over for a good wash down. The lake was busy but not totally crazy and slammed. We hung out at the RV til about 3:00 or so then drove to Holland Lake to sightsee. After checking it out, we went back to the RV. The guys picked up a BIG log from the loop and brought it down by the fire pit. Ste we ve is going to fix the bench with this big log. For supper we had steak, potatoes and beans.

Sunday - Jun 28
Today after finishing our routine stuff, we also picked up trash on the road leading into the access site. Later we hauled trash to the container site and stopped at grocery store. After we returned to the RV we did more weed eating. I took a nap in the afternoon. Our supper was smoked turkey sausage, hash browns, salad and berries. We cooked on the Blackstone griddle. We have been trying to use it when it's not raining. Later we watched Yellowstone on TV.

July 6 - July 12, 2020 A busy Week and Logan Flies Home

Mon   - Jul 6
After we got around, the chores were waiting for us. We had to haul the hose over to wash out the latrine this morning.  Then we hauled the trash and cleaned the Bigfork access site. Steve did some weed eating. The Boss came by and picked up our fire extinguisher to get it refilled. Lunch was pancakes and turkey bacon. Steve worked on the bench outside, he replaced the logs that were holding it up. We were inside most of the afternoon. Supper was turkey burgers, chips and yogurt. We watched the Titan games on TV. After that we went for a drive  and let Logan drive us around.

We thought we saw an elk back near the trees. You would have to enlarge to see the dark brown animal.

Tue - Jul 7
I got up late because my sleep was interrupted. I was up at 3:15 because I had to use the restroom and saw that a storm was coming up - so I put the awning in. We don't want to lose our new awning! Then I was up again about 6:00 AM with Zoey. She had been whining off and on since the middle of the night. She wanted out to eat grass - so I let her outside in the rain. I don't think she really liked that, but she went. Then I got her back inside and went back to bed. I woke up too late for my WW Zoom meeting -but found out I could go to a later meeting. We walked and did our chores. Steve putzed around with raking and pulling weeds. We went to town to the Grateful Bread for lunch and also went by the post office and grocery store. We took Logan by a store to get a few souvenirs to take home. Then we returned home for my WW Zoom meeting and supper.

Wed - Jul 8
We got up and around pretty good this morning. We completed our chores then went to town to do the laundry. While the laundry was washing - we cleaned the access site. Then back to the laundry to put clothes in the dryer. While they were drying we got the oil changed in the pickup. Then we finished the laundry and went back to the RV. Tony Powell brought us a fire extinguisher that had been re-charged, in case we had any more fires. We took a drive with Logan up by the Strawberry Lake Trailhead road and hiked a bit. We think it was Echo creek. It sure was nice there. After our excursion, we returned to town and went to the Flathead Brewing Co. for supper. We had to wait almost 1 1/2 hours for seating. We all ordered cajun chicken baskets and it was good. We had leftovers. Yum. Then back home.

Thu - Jul 9
We got up earlier today about 7:30 After walking and doing the chores, then we were on our way to the airport. We arrived with no problems. We wore our masks inside and went to the ticket counter and printed Logan's ticket. The really nice guy who helped us said Logan would be able to carry on his tote and his backpack. We mulled that over and eventually, Logan decided to check his tote. We waited around and horsed around with a few pictures. Then it was time for Logan to go through TSA and  board his plane. The plane took off on time. We were a little sad for him to leave - but we will see him again soon. Today would have been my Mom's 101st birthday. I am always a little sad that she is no longer with us either. After leaving the airport, we stopped at the Army Surplus store and Steve tried on some shoes. They didn't have his size , but can have them tomorrow. So we got a burger at McDonald's and then returned to the RV. We rested after we got home and had leftovers for supper. We watched Longmire after supper and I also educated 2 guys about not having a fire on the DNRC land to the north of us. Steve worked on the refrigerator, doing some defrosting.

Fri - Jul 10
Today after we  completed our morning routine- we did a bang up job cleaning the bathrooms and picking up trash. When we finished in Bigfork, we headed to Kalispell to get Steve's shoes and pick up supplies at Walmart. We were back to the RV in time for lunch. Later we had a nap. Supper was hamburgers, salad, berries and chips.

Sat - Jul 11
We had a pretty routine morning. It was a nice  day and we worked on cleaning the front of the RV for awhile. There were lots of folks here today. We had 74 cars on the road and parking lot at 3:15 PM. It was busy and a long day.

Sun - Jul 12
Today was a little windy and 72 degrees. We did all the routine things. After lunch I talked to both of my sisters. We watched two movies and drove to Strawberry Lake Road and walked with the dogs. Supper was pork chops, couscous, salad and brownies. Later we watched Yellowstone.  About 10:00 PM we stepped outside with the dogs and saw the beach area from the hill. Lo and behold, someone had a big campfire started down on the beach area. So we went and told them that campfires are not allowed here. Then we picked up some trash from the dock. It didn't look like they were making much progress on putting out the fire. So we got a bucket from the shed and took it down to them to use for putting out the fire. They finally put it out and we went back to the RV for bed. Sometimes people just will not follow the rules.
