Reviewing Campgrounds from 2015 - Workamp Site and then South and East

13th Site-Town: Athol, ID Campground Name: Farragut State Park. FHU. This was an excellent place to stay and workamp. We had a very private site next to the Museum where we hosted. The only others who could park there was the other hosts. We loved this park and it is very popular. Many Canadians com here to camp. We had wonderful trails, Lake Pend Oreille, Yummy Ice Cream at Bayview and Athol and many wonderful places to sightsee nearby. Read my blog for all the activities. 14th Site-Town: Grangeville, ID Campground Name: Bear Den RV Resort. FHU. Cost $31.00/night. This was basically a gravel parking lot. Somewhat crowded, not too scenic. Not sure if we would stay here again. 15th Site-Town: Mountain Home, ID Campground Name: Mountain Home Air Force Base FamCamp. FHU. Cost $15.00/night. It was hot when we stayed. The place was not too scenic and very few amenities on base. The price was great. 15th Site-Town: Honeyville, UT Campground Name: Crystal Hot springs. FHU. Cost $40.00/night. This was a more scenic stop. The sites were grass, a nice break from the grave. They had a swimming pool here that we did not use. We would stay here again. Nice Stop. 16th Site-Town: Salina, UT Campground Name: Butch Cassidy Campground. FHU. Cost $40.00/night. We stayed here to explore Capitol Reef NP. The site was very small, only a half size picnic table. We loved the National Park, but I should have done better research for a place to stay. There is interesting history of outlaws and Mormons in this area. We would not choose this park again. 17th Site-Town: Moab, UT Campground Name: Spanish Trails RV Park. FHU Cost $42.50/night. Again this was close quarters, but not as tight as the previous place. There was a good laundry room we used and the location was convenient. We toured Arches and Canyonlands NP from here. We would stay again. We might even choose a resort here in Moab if the site was great - prices are high in Utah. 18th Site-Town: Cortez, CO Campground Names: Parking Lot. NO hookups. Free. We lost the serpentine belt on the RV and were very lucky to get pulled into this parking lot. It was on the south side of town and that was fortunate- we were able to get parts and a mobil RV Tech to help us with the belt. We were here overnight and thankful for we weren't further down the highway when this happened. 19th Site-Town: Grants, NM Campground Name: Lavaland RV Park. FHU. $25.00/night. This park seemed to be doing some construction, but it was OK. Have to watch out for stickers. We were pretty satisfied with the stay - again it was not too scenic. 20th Site-Town: Albuquerque, NM Campground Name: Enchanted Trails RV Park. FHU. $18.00/night Passport America. This place is nice enough to stay again, we did. Loved looking at the vintage campers and cars. The people are friendly and it was just a block from Camping World, where we needed to have our refrigerator checked. Also we have stayed at Kirtland Air Force Base FamCamp- but it is difficult to get into at times - so this is another great place to stay in Albuquerque. 21st Site-Town: Tucumacari, NM Campground Name: Cactus RV Park FHU. $25.00/night. Passport America. Again - pretty much a parking lot, but the price is good. There was a nice restaurant next door and good places to walk the dogs. 22nd Site-Town: Amarillo, TX Campground Name: Wonderland RV Park. FHU. $23.40/night. The city park is nice but you have to cross a busy street to get there. The site was not level and a lot of people seemed to stay here year-round. We would not stay here again. 23rd Site-Town: El Reno, OK Campground Name: El Reno Lake West. FHU $20.00/night. Yes we stay here most every time we come through. Good place to camp and see the family. We could also stay at the Casino for free, it is north of town - but it is a little further away. So we enjoy this place for the ease and somewhat scenic area.

Reviewing Campgrounds from Summer 2015 Headed West and North

1st Site Town: El Reno, OK Campground Name: El Reno Lake West FHU; Cost was $20.00/night. Self Pay - No Host. This is a no brainer for us, we have family in the area and this is convenient.
2nd Site Town: Amarillo, TX Campground Name: AOK Camper Park FHU. Passport America $12.50/night- You pay across the street at a convenience store. This is not the most scenic spot - but again - very easy on the wallet and close to family.
3rd Site Town: Albuquerque, NM Campground Name: Enchanted Trails RV Park. FHU. Passport America $17.00/night. They have very friendly people here. You have some great vintage cars and campers to look at, and it is in keeping with the surroundings. Camping World is a next door, over a fence (so you have to go around on the highway), just in case you need something.
4th Site Town: Holbrook, AZ Campground Name: OK RV Park. FHU. I don't remember the price. The sites are spacious and the scenery is great for the area. It had a good laundry room and plenty of space to walk the dogs. We chose to stay here to see the Petrified Forest NP and the Painted Desert. The people were friendly and helpful here also - we stayed a couple of days in order to receive meds in the mail.
5th Site Town: Kingman, AZ Campground Name: Ft. Beale RV Park. FUH. Again, I do not remember the price. This was a little crowded, not bad - just not great.
6th Site Town: Las Vegas, NV Campground Name: Nellis Air Force Base Fam Camp. FHU. We paid about $25.00 per night. The site was spacious and well kept. We really enjoyed staying here, the dog park was excellent and we enjoyed our walks. We will return at some time in the future.
7th Site Town: Hurricane, UT Campground Name: St. George/Hurricane KOA Campground. FHU. We paid $38.00 per night. This place was OK - not tons of space - but not too tight. The views were amazing. And of course plenty of things to do in the area. More research might have got a a better place to stay - State park?? There was a guy there who kept trying to give our dogs treats - which they do not like. Even though we told him they did not want them and they are not nice dogs - he pestered us with them.
8th Site Town: Cedar City, UT Campground Name: Cedar Breaks RV Park. FHU. This place was run down, but had new owners who were very nice. I also can't remember the price we paid there either. I must track prices better next time. Great area - National Parks, etc. Next time I might research the parks for a better place to stay.
9th Site Town: Brigham City, UT Campground Name: Walmart - Stayed overnight - Got in late like 9:30 PM - No openings at nearest campground - we tried - no luck. So we stayed at Walmart. No problem sleeping, because we were tired.
10th Site Town: North Fork, ID Campground Name: Wagonhammer RV & Campground. Loved this place. Absolutely no cell phone signal, because of the mountains. But the park had good WIFI. The North Fork of the Salmon River was at our front window. Eagles had a nest across the river from us. We could have stayed here much longer! They also would have hired us as workampers if we wanted.
11th Site Town: Lolo, MT Campground Name: Square Dance Center & Campground. FHU $25.00/night. I discovered this place back in 2012 and wanted to return. I just love the concept, camp in your RV and square dance on Week-ends! It is very scenic and close to Lolo Creek. Of course there is Lolo Hot Springs and Lolo Pass nearby. Lewis and Clark stayed near here at Traveler's Rest State Park. The whole area just suits me to a T. Plus you are only about 10 - 15 miles south of Missoula - lots of town things to do if you are interested in that or need to buy something.
12th Site Coeur D'Alene, ID Campground Name: Ramarack RV Park. FHU $22.50/night - might have been a Passport America site. Lots of year round residents. We would not stay here again. Very tight, right in town. We stayed because we weren't sure if we could go ahead and get into the state park for our work ampler site a night early. In hindsight we should have checked or just stayed at Walmart. Oh well. We survived. We would not stay here again.

February, 2017 (I am writing this a little late!)

February was such a short month, I didn't get a blog written. WOW! Work still occupies my time three days per week and on the other days - mundane things take my time. The time is occupied by paying bills, watching TV, grocery shopping, cooking and working on my website, www.DietitianDelivers.com. I also sell Thirty-One gifts if anyone needs bags, thermal bags, totes, purses, jewelry, and other gift items www.mythirtyone.com/MaryKlinger. We met up with Kristi and the grandkids on February 12, 2017 for a pre-Valentine's lunch with them. We exchanged cards and had a nice visit at Texas Roadhouse. Steve bought some new walking shoes at Skechers outlet and then we went to Cabela's where I got some hiking shoes (Keen) and we both got some hiking socks. Next we went to Bass Pro Shop and Steve found a pair of hiking shoes (North Face) to try out. His feet have been bothering him and I finally convinced him to get some new orthotics fitted and made. There is a great guy at Stillwater, OK who makes them - Orthotic Prosthetic Solutions. We are hoping for excellent results. We have been trying to increase our walking --some longer walks, like 2 miles instead of 1 mile. The dogs love it when we take them to the country for walks. Steve and I each got the other one a little something for Valentine's Day to celebrate our love! On Feb 18, Steve & I were invited to an OSU-OU Bedlam Basketball game. Thanks to my great friend Kellie Bryant Sherrill! We enjoy the game and my alma mater Oklahoma State won! Yea, GO POKES! Final Score was 96-92! After the game we ate at Rib Crib - enjoyed that also. That pretty much covers the highlights for February!
