January 1 - 15 2023 The New Year Begins!

Sunday -1st Well I slept poorly after ringing in the New Year. I finally went to sleep about 4 AM. So I slept until 9:30. Then it was an easy day for us. We watched football and putzed around. We ate our black-eyed peas for good luck in the new year! Monday brought the Rose Parade which we watched and enjoyed. I had Physical Therapy and when  I don't go to Northern Oklahoma Therapy, I do my exercises at home. We also took down our Christmas tree and put it away. In between activities we also watched Football. We did two loads of laundry. Supper was Roast Beef, Potatoes and Carrots. Yum. Tuesday was pretty routine. We did computer stuff in the morning and then I went to PT in the afternoon. We had supper at La Macarena. Wednesday - 4th -We were up and around pretty good this morning. Steve had to go to Stillwater to get lab work done. After that was complete we went to Walmart and then home. Thursday 5th - We returned to Stillwater to get tires on my car. We left the car with Discount Tires and took the pickup through the car wash and then went to Panera Bread to hand out til it was time to pick up the car. They were supposed to do an alignment on it also - but the guy who does that was not there. So we had to re-schedule. Friday - A pretty routine day. Saturday - After breakfast we watched recorded shows of My Lottery Dream Home. Also today we listened to a zoom meeting on organizing photos. Then we watched several football games. Sunday was pretty much a repeat of yesterday. Buffalo Bills won, Dallas Cowboys lost and I don't remember what happened with Green Bay.

Jan 3 - Full Moon taken from parking lot of La Macarena

Jan 9-A utility company was here stabilizing this pole, I think.

Monday - 9th - Today is laundry day, so we got that done. I did home PT twice. I have been working on my blog to try to catch up. That is hard because I guess I am not as interested in it as I used to be. We watched Georgia beat TCU in football. Tuesday - I  did my home PT in the morning and then we were on the road to Ponca City. I had an appointment with Dr. Gilbert to discuss getting a colonoscopy. When we got back home we stopped at Linda's and talked to Hazel also. They can't go out to eat tonight - due to other commitments. And I did something fun  tonight: I attended the initial meeting of the book club forming here in Perry. The name of the Club is Perry Page Turners. We will meet monthly at the library and the first book we are reading is: The Rosie Project. I enjoyed it. We will discuss it at the next meeting.  Steve and I went to supper at La Macarena. Wednesday - Another routine day. We did take a small walk after PT. Thursday - I was up a 7:30 today. After having breakfast and getting around we headed to Mc Bride for my 6 week follow-up on my shoulder. The first order of business was an Xray and then a check with the doctor. He seemed pleased with my progress as I was. I don't have to wear my sling anymore unless I feel the need. I was also able to do more toward fixing my hair. I am getting better every day. When we got back to Perry we ate at a restaurant called Charlie B's. We both had a hamburger and they were good. Friday-13th Well if anyone is suspicious, today is Friday the 13th! It was a routine day.  Saturday - A routine day with TV watching and a few other chores. I made meatloaf, cheesy potatoes and green beans for supper. Sunday - The big adventure today was shopping at Walmart. We were home by 12:15. So then it was football. Supper was leftovers from yesterday.

Christmas Present put in their proper place.

Funny sign about Boomers I saw on Facebook

My sister stays at Pawleys Island in the Winter. These hammocks are made there. They had one for a prize on The Price is Right. The cost for this one is $1305!

December 19 - 31, 2022 Christmas and Wrapping up 2022

 Dec. 19 - 25

Monday - The routine stays the same most mornings. After the routine things were completed we went to Stillwater to pick up Steve's new orthotics and shoes. The we stopped at Tractor Supply and Walmart Market to finish our shopping. We got home and unloaded our stuff. Next we just took it easy.  Tuesday - Today I went to PT from 12:30 to 1:30 while Steve did errands. At home Steve did some cleaning around the house to get ready for company. I finalized the Christmas cash presents. We met up with Hazel for supper at the Boomerang. Wednesday - Steve was vacuuming and cleaning today. I went to PT. Linda had thought about eating lunch with us - but she decided to get home. For our supper I fixed chicken breasts, brown rice and mixed vegetables.  Thursday - Steve is still cleaning, today it is the kitchen floor. I worked on the computer and completed my PT. Friday - We finally put our packages around the tree. Steve checked the RV heater. It has been really cold here and the kids may sleep in the RV. Maybe not if it is too cold. Austyn and Sky arrived tonight and we took them to La Macarena to eat supper. Linda joined us for supper. Saturday - it's the day before Christmas! Kristi, John, and Logan arrived about 11:30. I made Hobo Soup for lunch. It was yummy and so easy. Supper was at La Macarena here in town. It is our favorite place to eat! Sunday - Merry Christmas! I cracked some cinnamon rolls open for breakfast and then we opened presents. I put the turkey breast in the oven to get it started. We all enjoyed our presents and stocking stuffers. I didn't take many pictures of present opening except for Kristi & John. Because we got them engraved toasting glasses for the wedding. That was special. Then it was on to making appetizers and the remainder of Christmas dinner. After that we all just hung out  and relaxed. Austyn and Sky had to leave today because he had to work. I had cooked a spiral sliced ham also, and supper was ham and cheese crescent rolls. We probably won't need to eat for awhile.

Our Christmas Tree with presents

Dec 26 - 31
Monday - Breakfast today was cereal and or pop tarts. Kristi fixed turkey sandwiches for lunch. We looked at some arches for the wedding and other wedding related planning. Then Kristi, John and Logan had to leave about 2:00 to get back to work. After everyone left Steve and I just relaxed. Our supper consisted of snacks and berries.  Tuesday - Today was routine plus naps. Steve's back is giving him fits. We watched Oklahoma State in their bowl game and they got beat! Darn! I'm glad I didn't put out big bucks to go see it. Tonight we ate at La Macarena with Hazel and Stetson.  Wednesday - Today I went out for PT. After that, it was home for lunch. Steve and I went to Walmart Market for groceries. Then we unloaded everything at home and rested. Thursday - Today is Steve's Birthday! His back is giving him fits! We left for OKC about 3 or so and stopped at Camping World. I got him a new director's chair and an outside mat for his birthday present. Then we met the kids at Hideaway Pizza for his birthday supper. It was great! Friday - I called the pain management nurse to get Steve an appointment. Of course I had to leave a message. And since it is a holiday coming up, we probably won't hear anything for awhile. I had PT. When It was over we had lunch at home. I also did a load of laundry. Whoop Whoop! Saturday - The last day of 2022!  Today I did my PT at home twice. Then we watched football. TCU beat Ohio State in the bowl game. Steve is researching the RV heater. We stayed up to see the new year in and then went to sleep.

November 28 - December 18, 2022 Shoulder Surgery and Beyond

 Nov 28 - Dec 4, 2022

Monday - I did not sleep well. I guess I was nervous. I was up at 6:10 AM. I took another shower (protocol for surgery) and only 2 of my normal pills with a sip of water. We were on the road pretty early to get to OKC. We arrived at McBride at 9:00 AM and got checked in. They had a hard time getting an IV in me. It took them 4 -5 tries. But that was ok because they used lidocaine when they stuck me so it didn't hurt. I received my surgery drugs at approximately 11:30 or so. I really did not know anything after that. I came to and was in a regular room by 3:30 PM. So Steve and Kristi stayed with me and visited til about 7 PM - then they left for home. Again, I could not sleep. I got too hot. I think I finally slept about 1:30 or 2:00 until 4:30 AM when they came to get blood. The nurses were great and I was happy everything went so well! Even the food was good. Tuesday- After the lab came I think I almost got back to sleep and the doctor came in at 7:00 AM. He said I did great and he thought I would do really good. Steve was on his way to pick me up. Physical Therapy came by and we walked around the hall. Next a case manager came in and checked to see if I had everything I needed. The transit person was here before I was even ready. Then I went out in the hall and got dizzy and nauseous, but I was in a wheelchair - so I didn't fall. We stopped to pickup the pain meds in their pharmacy before leaving. I was in the pickup and Steve had to go back in and pay for them. I didn't have my purse.  I think they were less than $4.00. I was still nauseous as we drove home so we stopped at Guthrie and got potato chips and 7 up. We were home about 11:30 AM and I took one pain pill. I had more nausea. Later I tried yogurt and oatmeal.  Wednesday - I was up at 4:30 and had breakfast. Basically I am sitting in the chair with my arm in a sling and taking the pain meds on schedule. I am sleeping a lot - either catching up or its the pain meds. Maybe both. Tonight Steve picked up hamburgers from Braum's! Thursday - Pretty much the same as yesterday. Sit around and watch TV and rest. Nap, Lunch repeat. I do my exercises twice a day. Tonight we had chicken strips from the Boomerang. Friday - Same deal, Eat, TV, hang out, take pain meds on schedule, and nap. Supper was Arby's tonight. But I am so glad that I am not hurting. I was nervous about how it would be after the surgery and I am pleased to report - it just was not bad. Saturday & Sunday - Saturday I got to remove my bandage. And I took a nice shower. I didn't even have to wrap anything over my arm when I showered. It was more football, and recovery today. I did make us a pizza tonight. Sunday - I am back to  cooking our suppers. We watched TV and I stayed on medication schedule. I  also do some exercises for my arm twice a day.

Dec 5 -11

Monday - Today we were up and around fairly early. After getting dressed, Steve helped me fix my hair. We left for OKC about 8:15 and got there about 9:15. Today was Steve's annual exam for MS. He saw the nurse, the PA, Social Worker and OT. We also went to the lab for blood work. We stopped at Wendy's on the way home for a Frosty! A nice reward for doing all those medical visits. We arrived home at 12:30. We rested the remainder of the day and watched Monday night football. Our supper was chicken vegetable soup. Tuesday - Steve was having trouble with his back today so we put the TENS unit on him and we both took it easy.  Wednesday - Today we got up and around by 8:30. We went to Walmart for supplies. They were not going to help us with checkout until I asked at the service desk. Since Steve is tax exempt - we don't know how to do self checkout. Plus I was in a sling and his back was bad. Anyway they reluctantly helped us. Then we went home and unloaded everything. That pooped us out! The remainder of the day was spent resting and relaxing. Thursday - Pretty routine day. Steve did pay some bills and otherwise we took it easy. Friday - We had a routine morning. Later I ordered some more presents off of Amazon. We also did some errands around town. Saturday & Sunday - We did a lot of routine things today. Steve wrapped some more Christmas presents and I assisted with what I could. We also watched football both days. I think we added a few more ornaments to the Christmas tree.

December 12 - 18

Monday - Today we worked on Laundry. We also watched Yellowstone which was recorded from last night. Later we watched Monday night football. Tuesday - I ordered some books on Kindle today. Since I was getting a hairdo today, there were other things that needed done downtown. We mailed our Christmas cards to my sister and brother-in-law. There were errands at the bank and post office. We took a nice walk with the dogs. Another item on our agenda was catching up on our bookkeeping.  Wednesday - Today was my follow-up appointment at McBride Orthopedic clinic. I had my stitches out. We were on the road pretty early. After I arrive they took an X-ray and then gave me a referral for Physical Therapy. After we got home, we stopped at Braum's for lunch. When we got home it was time for rest and relaxation.  Thursday - The main event today was a trip to Walmart Market for groceries. After that it was all routine stuff. Friday - I had PT today. Then we putzed around the house the remainder of the day. Steve checked my tires and found out the back one had steel showing. So we  will deal with that after Christmas is over. Saturday & Sunday - Everyday when I am home  I do my shoulder therapy twice. When I go to Physical Therapy, I only do the PT once at home. We watched three football games Saturday on the NFL Network. It has been cold and we have been staying inside more. On Sunday we drove to Bartlesville and ate lunch with Paige, Dave, Parker and Pam and JC. We exchanged our Christmas presents and got back home about 3PM. It takes about two hours one way to go to Bartlesville. So we were gone most of the day. We had a lot of fun and a nice dinner too! It is always good to see family.
