January 1 - 15, 2022 Happy New Year! And Then Some!

Snow - Jan 1, 2022

Well January 1 ended up being on a Saturday! We watched some things on You Tube (RV stuff) then my team the OK State Cowboys played in the Fiesta Bowl from Phoenix, AZ. The pulled off the 37-35. It was a great game and really exciting at the end. They beat Notre Dame! Steve and I didn't make any resolutions, but we try to eat healthy and get some exercise. Sunday we got up and around After breakfast we watched some TV and got ready to go to Yukon to meet up  with the kids and grand kids . Today we celebrated Steve's belated birthday! We met at Hideaway Pizza - Yummy! Everyone had fun visiting and then we went to Kristi's house in El Reno and Austyn & Sky opened their Christmas presents (belated) and Steve opened his birthday presents. We had ice cream and cake to top it all off. A great day! After we got home I think we watched Football.

Monday (3rd) rolled around and after our usual morning routine we worked on our Spypoint Camera (trail cam). It was not sending night pictures. So we were on chat with them to try to figure out what was wrong. I paid a few bills and we worked on laundry. Tuesday was more of the same. We did run some errands around Perry. We also enjoyed our supper with Hazel and Stetson at La Macarena. Linda had to go to a basketball game. Wednesday  we got around slowly and then we put away all the Christmas Decorations and the Tree. We took a nice walk today also. Thursday the 6th, it was very cold here. It was 5 degrees when we got up and the high only made it to 21. We did more work on the Trail Camera. We brought in the exercise bike from the shed to the living room - so we have been trying to ride it some if it is cold outside. Friday we got around and after lunch we went to Stillwater to Academy Outdoors for a new SD card for the trail cam. That is what was suggested to try next for the black pictures. We also went to Lowes and Walmart. We were back home by about 4 PM. Saturday the 8th it was a nicer weather day so we took down the outside Christmas lights. They really do come down easier and faster than they go up. We watched football and supper was meatloaf, baked potatoes, green beans, and berries.  Sunday we watched Green Bay and the Steelers - they both won. We also did a walk and rode our bikes.

Mary & Steve after our walk

Monday (10th) I made Steve an appointment for injections for his back. They wanted to see him for FU. We did a walk and rode the bike. The evening's entertainment was watching the College Football Championship Game. Supper was Pork Loin Roast, Veggies and berries. Tuesday we were up and around in pretty good time. We went to the Stillwater VA for Steve's primary care appointment. We made a stop at Walmart and also got the mail when we returned to Perry. We walked today, and caught up our  bookkeeping and bills. Wednesday (12th) We went to Edward Jones for an appointment then visited with Linda at her shop. Tonight we watched the movie : Tinder Bar on Amazon. It was OK- nothing to write home about! LOL. ThursdayWe got back around pretty early and returned to Stillwater so Steve could have lab work drawn. We also made a stop at Walmart (sounds familiar, right?). We were home before lunch - so that was a fast trip. The replacement Trail Cameral arrived. The folks were really nice to send us a quick replacement. Yea! We took a very short walk and then took it easy. Friday it was cold! I made us a beef pot roast with potatoes and carrots for supper.

December 16 - December 31, 2021 Merry Christmas!

Thursday (16th) We went to Stillwater today for more Christmas shopping - trying to wrap it up. We stopped at Academy Outdoors, Belk, Lowe's, Staples, Sally's, and Ulta. Then we had a wonderful lunch at Red Lobster - the college kids aren't in town and that makes eating out easy! We also hit Walmart before we headed home. Tonight we watched the Kansas City Chiefs beat the LA Chargers. Friday (17th) we were up and around early. We left at 9:15 to head over to Bartlesville. First we met up with Dottie & Jerry at Eggberts for lunch. It was OK - but not great in my opinion. Dottie is a nurse I used to work with at Bass - and we used to eat lunch together a lot when we were both  working there. Her husband has family in Bartlesville - so they were there to visit them. They stay at an  Air B N B so we went there after lunch and visited some more. Then we met my sister Pam 7 her husband JC at Rib Crib -and visited while they ate. Later we all went back to their house in Dewey so they could open the presents we got them. Paige & David and Parker came up and we exchanged presents with them also. We left for home about 6:15 and arrive at 8:30 PM. We were tired when we got back.

Echo Lake with Snow!

Our boss, Tony Powell, sent us this picture of Echo Lake (In Montana, our summer camp hosting gig) with snow! He said, "It's a beautiful, crisp winder day at Echo Lake!"

Saturday was spent watching football and relaxing some. Steve did check out the RV furnace and make sure it was working. I worked on the blog some. Sunday was also a slow day watching football.

Monday (20th) Today was a routine day that included some laundry and present wrapping. We also went on a short walk. Tuesday (21st) - We did some research on trip ideas. We may try to go to South Carolina in February depending on how things go. I got a hair do at Linda's and Steve got a trim. Later we had supper with Linda, Hazel and Stetson at La Macarena and exchanged presents. We also went by Maxine's to give her a present and we all sat around and visited for about an hour. Hazel had her great grandson TW, with her and he was so much fun to watch and play with.  Wednesday Steve vacuumed and mopped. I checked on some things on the computer. It wasn't wildly exciting.

We saw this well decorated place driving around Perry! We love the pickup!

Thursday (23rd) It was back to Stillwater for all the last minute items for Christmas food celebrations. We also went into Walmart Market to get the items we couldn't find. After we got home and unloaded the groceries - we took it easy. I encouraged Steve to take a nap because he had been awake since 4 AM. Supper was Pork Roast, baked potato and berries. Friday (24th) I went to Tractor Supply to buy Steve a few things for his Christmas present. He doesn't want anything - but I want him to have something to open. Kristi, John & Logan arrived today and we visited with them and took a walk. We all went to La Macarena for supper. After supper we played cards and other games. FUN! Saturday (25th) Finally, Christmas has arrived!   The first thing I did was get the turkey in the oven to start cooking. Next, we all opened our presents. That took most of the morning. We even called Austyn on the Portal and let her watch us open presents! We did fit in one card game before the final Christmas dinner preparations were made. We also had snacks: Crackers, cheese ball, cocktail smokies, etc. We had dessert later and maybe a nap. Steve , John, & I walked and then we had leftovers for supper. We also watched football and played a few more games.

On Sunday (26th) we were up and around. Breakfast was Braum's cinnamon rolls. Then I fixed Hodge Podge Soup for lunch. Kristi, John and Logan had to return home for work obligations. Steve and I finished out the day with football, soup and berries. Dallas won their game!

Monday (27th) Steve woke up early again this morning (4:30). He had a stuffy nose and felt a little under the weather. So we did laundry and not much else. I did retrieve the mail. For our supper - I made turkey noodle soup with leftover turkey. Tuesday - we wen to Stillwater so Steve can pick up his new orthotics. Then we went into Walmart to get some over the counter cold meds, in case they are needed. We did eat supper at La Macarena with the girls. We spent the leftover mail money for everybody's supper!

Get a load of this car with the couch on top! We saw this at the restaurant! LOL

Wednesday (29th) is Steve's Birthday! He didn't feel great - so we rescheduled our plans for his party. We didn't do much just sat around and watched TV. We did watch OU beat Oregon in the Alamo Bowl. We will do his part on Sunday at El Reno, when everyone feels better. The plan is to get pizza at The Hideaway in Yukon, then go to Kristi's for cake and ice cream and presents. Thursday (30th) Today we cleaned out  the refrigerator and got rid of any old leftovers. Mary worked on the computer. After lunch we did some computer bookkeeping. We did check out a used car for Logan and said hi to Linda.  Friday the 31st of December, 2021! It was the last day of the year and we did all the usual things in the morning. After lunch we went to Walmart for groceries. I fixed our calendars for 2022. Supper was Chicken, Couscous, Salad and Berries. Then we saw the new year in at home.

December 1 - 15, 2021 And so it begins, The Christmas Season

Well December rolled around and it's all about Christmas for awhile! On Wednesday (1st) we finished our outside Christmas decorations and put up the Christmas Tree inside. We also decorated a few other places with our Christmas collections.

The Angel can still fit in her dress! LOL

Thursday we were up and around a little earlier than usual. We left at 8:45 to drive to Enid for a funeral. My brother-in-law's sister died and so we attended the funeral. When we arrived home we mailed some cards and I visited with Linda at her beauty shop. I also checked at Thorn's for presents to buy. Tonight, Dallas beat the Saints in football. Friday we headed to Stillwater for Steve's Orthotics appointment. We also went shoe shopping for Steve and he got two new pairs! In addition, we stopped at Hobby Lobby, Lowe's and the Walmart Market. We had lunch at home then rested.  Later we drove to Ponca City and Met Pam & JC at Perkins restaurant for supper and visiting.

Outdoor Light Displays in Ponca City!

Saturday we watched the Big 12 Championship football game. It was good but my team, OK State got beat by Baylor. I was also on the phone with Dish arguing about a bill. I had it turned off, but was still getting billed. I believe I got it resolved to my advantage though. Sunday was pretty much a relaxing day with naps and football. I fixed a nice meatloaf, baked potatoes, and salad for supper!

Monday (6th)we were up and around early to head to OKC to the VA. Steve had his annual appointment with the SCI clinic. He checked out good! They will order and MRI to check his MS. We were home by 11:30. So we rested and took a nap. Tuesday (7th) we did the routine things and then wrapped some presents. I also had to order some contacts, which requires a trip to their office here in Perry to pay for them in advance. While we were out we also had to replenish the dogs' heartworm meds. The air pressure indicator in the car kept saying my tires were low - so we checked them and got them aired up. We had supper out with Linda & Hazel. Wednesday we pretty much did routine things and I started checking the Christmas list twice (just like Santa)! LOL! I had Steve practice paying the bills online and we did other bookkeeping business. Thursday (9th) we got new tag stickers for the Car and RV. Then we went to Walmart at Stillwater for groceries and supplies. Linda wanted us to meet up with her and Hazel at CCC Lake for pictures and we had a lot of fun. Stetson and Nadia were there also. We had a great time acting crazy! Then we ate out at Texas Roadhouse in Stillwater. YUM!

Friday we just hung out and did some more wrapping and adding bows to presents. Somedays - we don't do a lot. Saturday (11) was an excursion to OKC to meet Kristi and John for more Christmas shopping. We were trying to wrap this shopping thing up. We went to Target, Quail Springs Mall, Eskimo Joes, etc. Our lunch was at Black Bear Diner. Steve and I also stopped at Cabela's before we went home. Big day! We were pooped when we got home. Sunday was a relaxing day with football. Dallas won their gam and we watched Football most of the day. We had Pot Roast, potatoes and carrots for supper.

Monday (13th) Part of our morning routine seems to be catching up on TV shows from the previous night that we recorded. Today we watched Yellowstone. We did errands around town and got cash for Christmas presents. We also drove the car through the car wash. Today also included laundry and present wrapping.

I love the colors and patterns of the soap at the Car Wash!

Tuesday (14th)we did all the routine items and I also made labels fro the Christmas Cards. Then I assisted Steve in hanging some new kitchen curtains. It was a big deal to hang the curtains - because they were off by a centimeter - and he had to get them straight. Plus he ironed them. So this turned into a real project! LOL

Curtains are hung!

Tonight we ate supper with Hazel, Linda and Stetson at La Macarena. On Wednesday (15th) Steve was busy working on a stand for the old RV TV to use as a computer monitor while I putzed around on the computer. I think he got somewhat frustrated and that project is on the back burner. The afternoon was a little blah.
