October 15 through 21, 2018

Monday the 15th was a regular day and I went to the health department and got a flu shot. We did some more accounting and talked to Irene (Steve's sister) about an upcoming trip to Arkansas to visit his other sister.

Tuesday, the 16th we went to OKC to the VA clinic for Steve's follow-up appointment with the SCI clinic.  SCI stands for Spinal Cord Injury - he fits this category because he has MS.  His regular PA was out for the day and we saw Dr. Rabbadi - who is the head of the Neurology department for OKC-VA.  He was very nice and thorough. We stopped at Camping World but didn't buy anything!
On Wednesday - I didn't feel great and didn't do much. By Thursday I had improved and we did some laundry and ordered a part for Steve's recliner in the RV. We ended up ordering it direct from Winnebago - because they had the part and knew what we needed.  There is a lady there, Lisa - who is great help!

Butterflies for your viewing pleasure!

On Friday we got up and around and drove to Oklahoma City to meet Pam (my sister) and Paige (my niece) for another birthday celebration!  We ate at Red Lobster and then went to the mall - Dillard's and Penney's. Then it was back home to take it easy. Saturday and Sunday were routine days with a little work on cleaning the RV, some laundry and football thrown in.  There may have been naps also!

We watched a movie on Amazon - "Woman Walks Ahead".
It was about an artist who left New York City to come west and paint. It was loosely based on Caroline Weldon's life.  After her arrival, she eventually became and Indian activist. She painted a portrait of Sitting Bull and it is on display at the North Dakota Heritage Center (Historical Society). - Bismarck, ND. One thing that struck me about the movie was her quest: She did not want to be insignificant! The movie romanticized her life and actions - but we enjoyed it! She painted four portraits of Sitting Bull but only two survived. The other painting is at the Historic Arkansas Museum in Little Rock, Maybe we can plan our RV travels to go see the painting. Another thing I would love to see - I will add it to the list. The list grows longer and I wonder if I will ever get to all the places I would like to see.
