June 29- July 5, 2020 Happy Fourth of July!

Monday - Jun 29
Today it rained and even though we were up at 8:30, we stayed inside until almost 11:00 AM. Then we did our chores. Steve sprayed some weeds and we walked around the loop road. We watched TV and also took a short nap. I made chili for supper.

Tuesday - Jun 30
We got up and around and after breakfast, I had my WW zoom meeting. It rained a lot again today and we didn't get outside much. We went to town and cleaned during a lull in the rain. We picked up burgers at Dairy Queen and ate them at home. We played a game of cards (Phase 10) and then watched Longmire on DVD.

Wednesday - Jul 1
Same old routine again today. The high temperature today was 57 degrees. Steve did some weed eating. We walked, napped and watched TV. Later we went to town for pizza. There was more light rain in the afternoon. We had a nice little fire after supper.

Thursday - Jul 2
Today after  doing all the routine items we loaded up the laundry and went to town to complete that. While in town we also cleaned the Bigfork access site. We returned home for lunch. I talked to Marsha and checked in with her today. Later we drove to the Swan River Trail and walked. Next we went to Horseshoe Lake and Swan River access sites. We also drove up the forest road towards Crane Mountain. Logan drove us home - he sure likes driving. When we got home we had turkey bacon and pancakes for supper. Later we had a fire to finish up the evening.
Found this trap tied to the dock. Some guy was trying to catch crawdads. Technically legal, but not cool at the dock, according to our Boss.

Friday - Jul 3
It was a beautiful day today. We completed all our routine chores and then sat outside. The game warden was here. Then Tony Powell brought us some life jackets for the loaner program. They both left before the real crowd came! We were outside most of the day and checked the parking lot. We also had to warn some people about not shooting off any fireworks (even though we have 2 signs about that)!  We drove to Kalispell Walmart a little bit late and got supplies and ice cream, then returned to the RV.
Our supper was pork loin chops, baked potatoes and green beans. We walked through the parking lot again to check on things. The people were kind of crazy today - then I figured out it was a full moon!

Saturday - Jul 4
Today we did all the routine things and this place was very busy but not crazy. It seemed a little more calm today. We were outside most of the morning. For lunch we just snacked around. We had a guy ask about parking on the road. We told him it was fine, except by  the signs that state no parking, tow away zone. A nap was in order. Supper was steak, hamburgers, hash browns, salad and berries. Again we cooked supper on the Blackstone griddle. It turned out pretty good. After supper, a lady came knocking at the door and said there was a fire over north of the Osprey nest. We took our fire extinguisher and a shovel and headed over to check it out. The fire was almost out when we finished walking over there. The lady had been putting water on it. Evidently, someone had been popping firecrackers on a stump and it caught fire.  The Fire Department finally showed up and Logan ran over to show them where the fire was (plus he had run back to bring a bucket over). While we were observing the fire to make sure it didn't get out of hand again, there was a boat parade. Logan had the fireman take a picture with him. We thought that was cute. We called our boss Tony Powell - to let him know about the fire. The evening was complete when we watched other people shoot their fireworks off over the lake!

Sunday - Jul 5
We were up late this morning. But we did the chores and walked the dogs around the loop road. We had lots of folks here enjoying the beautiful weather. We finally had a snack for lunch. Then I took a nap. We checked the latrine for toilet paper and did a round through the parking lot. I was going to take a nap, but the guys hollered at me and said a game warden was here. So I went and shot the breeze with hime. It was Chuck - not our regular guy. Anyway, he doesn't get out of his truck - just observes that parking is a problem and goes on his merry way. Supper was turkey kielbasa, potatoes and berries. We also went to town and cleaned the access site there.
