July 1 - 5, 2021 Happy Fourth of July Weekend!

Thursday, July 1

We did our routine things, eat, walk, and chores. Then Steve checked the propane regulator and found out it was bad. So we drove to Kalispell and got a new one. Then back to the RV. He got that installed and we also added the sunshade to the awning. Later we had a nap. For supper we had smoked sausage and potatoes. We decided to try to get some ice cream and drove to Ferndale for it, but they were closed. So we went into Bigfork and got our ice cream at the Dairy Queen. We also had a thunderstorm with some rain! It was 95 degrees at 4:30 PM! It was very hot for this area.

Today after we did our chores here we waited to see if the boss was coming down. I called him and he said it would be awhile, so we went to town and did the chores. After lunch Tony (the boss) brought the gate barriers but not the sign. So we putzed around and took a nap later. There weren’t that many people here at 4:00 today. About 9:30 we set up the barriers. I explained to people who were coming in that we would be setting these up and closing the inbound side at 10:00 PM. Most of the people understood but two guys weren’t very happy because they wanted to go night fishing.

Saturday, July 3

I didn’t sleep very well because my should hurt. I think I was a little upset about the gate deal also. Anyway we did our thing. Late in the day some guy almost hit the life jacket sign. Wow, some people can’t drive. We put the barrier up at 10 PM.

Sunday, July 4

Steve was up at 5 AM to take down the barrier, I slept until 7 AM. Then we got all the chores done and went to Walmart for supplies. We left at 9:30 AM and got back at 11:30. I think that is a new record time. After lunch Tony (boss) came down and brought our signs for the barrier. Steve fixed the signs to the barriers and then we took a nap. I monitored the dock and was pretty happy that everyone seems to be behaving. Later we put up the barrier.

Today I talked to Linda & Hazel to see how they were doing. We did all our routine things here and then went to town to take care of the access site there. We got back home and had lunch. I visited with my sister, Marsha. Later I paid some bills and updated the checkbook. In additionI worked on the blog. Later we dumped our black tank. Then went to Noisy Creek for a walk. It was cool there. The temperature was 88 degrees at 6 PM.
