July 15 - Aug 1, 2021 The last half of July!

We did all the usual things today, but it seemed a little quiet with Logan and Kristi gone. We mailed Kristi’s wallet to her when we went to town. I tried to find Zoe a halter - and I bought one for about $17 and it didn’t stay on. Oh well! What else did I have to spend my money on. We made a return trip to the vet in Bigfork because Buster was still having trouble with itching/scratching. She gave him a shot and a flea/tick treatment. It seemed to help him.

These pictures are at the vet office. I have no clue who the artist is, but I love the pictures!

We’ve had several 90 degree days this summer which is unusual for this area. At least the morning start out cool and the evenings are nice too! Friday we did laundry. The week-end was pretty busy with boaters, floaters, swimmers and recreators.

Turkeys we saw on our drive on Foothill   Road

My attempt at a moon picture. It was a lovely night.

But we do most of the same things. Many days we take an afternoon nap. On Sunday evening (18th) we drove Foothill Road and saw lots of deer and turkeys. Monday was routine. On Tuesday we went to Kalispell and  I got some new shoes at Sportman’s Ski Haus. Later we went to Walmart and then returned to the RV to put away all our supplies.

We saw the Weinermobile in Bigfork on July 22, 2021

The pickup has been giving us problems with the fan switch. It only blows on 2 and 4. So Steve worked on figuring that out. Steve also provided telephone technical assistance to Kristi for her battery Charger. I guess Austyn was having trouble with her vehicle and Kristi was trying to help her determine if the battery was bad.

On Saturday (24th)we did some weed eating in addition to the regular stuff. But I must digress to the night before, Friday. Stage II Fire Restrictions were also put into effect either the 23rd or 24th, so no campfires. When we closed the gate we noticed a Roadtrek Van was still here at 10 PM and this is a day use area.  We had been watching it most of the day. He had all the doors open. So Steve stuck his head in and hollered! But guess what, The Guy didn’t answer. Steve noticed an empty liquor bottle and the guy was passed out in the rear of the van. So we didn’t do anything else with him. We decided it was best to just leave him be. By Saturday morning we noticed his doors were shut - so at least he was alive! We thought the weed eating would rouse him up, but it didn’t. So we gave him the knock! We told him that this was a day use area and he gave us some story about meeting someone here, but they didn’t show up. We told him that we tried to rouse him the night before but he was passed out. We also told him he is not supposed to stay overnight and he needed to get a move on. He said he would be out in about and hour and a half (Noon). We talked to our boss, and he said to call him back if evening rolled around and he didn’t leave. Finally at 8:15 PM the guy left! I texted our boss and we were all happy.

On July 25 (Monday) our boss was here to put up the Stage II Fire restriction signs and tell us a story about another guy trying to abuse the Day use fishing access at Horseshoe Lake. This guy was at our place today and so we kept an eye on him.  Tuesday was Laundry day and Wednesday we drove to Ronan to go to the Amazon Locker for the part Steve ordered. He installed that part but the problem was not resolved.

On Thursday we drove to Kalispell and got a blower motor resistor connection. We went to two different NAPA stores to get the part. This did fix the problem! Most days this week were 90 degrees or more!  Friday evening our boss called and said he heard a rumor that some guys might be having a fishing  tournament (without a permit). He wanted us to find out anything we could about that. So we were on high alert, but nothing really developed.

Sunday  (Aug 1) was a routine day. But that evening a Thunderstorm rolled in. The rain is needed, but we don’t need lightning! So glad another fire was not started. And we were lucky that we did not lose electricity!
