October 7, 2023 - October 31, 2022 Doctors, Routine Stuff and Football at Home!

Friday - 7th Evidently today we pretty much took it easy and putzed around. We unloaded more stuff from the RV to the House - a little at a time.  We just relaxed at home. For an FYI: We put 2,217 miles on our pickup driving this season.

Saturday - 8th Another day of doing exactly what we wanted. We watched Lottery Dream Home and Football. OU got beat by Texas and OSU played Texas Tech and won! I stopped our Dish service in the RV today.

Sunday - 9th We try to walk around the neighborhood a little each day. The dogs get so excited!. We watched Green Bay and Dallas today. Luckily Dallas won! We completed some laundry and other weekly chores. Supper was Pizza at home.

Monday - 10th I was up by 9 AM this morning. Sleeping in is great! After breakfast and getting dressed - we went to Walmart. While I was there  I got a second pneumonia shot. Nobody wants pneumonia! Then we returned home and put away all our stuff!

Tuesday 11th Our electricity went out overnight. So glad it wasn't freezing! Today's project was going to Linda's and getting my hair colored. I washed that gray away! We called Power Lift regarding our foundation repair. Steve was working on the garage door and found that it needs replaced. We had piers placed by Power Lift back in 2013. At that time they said the garage was OK and did not need any piers. Well now the garage is showing some problems - so we need them to look at it. I put in a call and set up the appointment.  We had supper at La Macarena and walked after supper.

Wednesday 12th Today we went to the VA in OKC. Steve has an appointment with pain management for his back. The check in has changed! You used to use a kiosk with your card. Now you use your cellphone and a QR code. I wonder what the government will do with all those kiosks! Waste (?) They have also changed the travel pay - now you either do it on a computer or back to paper. Is this progress? Not too sure. It sure was easy with the kiosk! Steve also got his Flu and Covid vaccines. When we finished the appointment we drove home. We also did some errands around town.

Thursday 13th - This day was paperwork and banking day. I recorded our trip expenses.  We caught up the bank statement from summer. We got some more clothes and stuff out of the RV. Now we have our trail camera set up in the back yard. Can't wait to see what we get.

Friday 14th - We were out the door about 8 ish to head to the OKC VA. Steve had two appointments. And he got to pick out new glasses! Logan and Kristi met us for lunch at Cheevers when we finished. It's a historic place near Classen Circle in OKC. It's a little expensive for lunch, but the atmosphere is nice. Steve and I had eaten here before - but it s been a few years. The building has some interesting history. At one point it was a floral shop and that floral case is still in the front of the building displaying desserts now! After we got back to Perry I got my Covid and Flu shots at the walk in event sponsored by our local drug store.

Saturday & Sunday  15 & 16  OU beat KU. We watched a great game with my team (OSU and TCU). My team OSU lost in a 2nd overtime. Sunday Green Bay lost and Dallas lost. Sometimes the teams we like don't do great!

Week of  Oct 12 - 25

Monday- Routine. tried to order a new visor for the pickup - but it got cancelled the next day. Unavailable.     Tuesday - Headed to the VA early. Steve got back injections today. We were pooped when we got back home! So we took a nap. Supper at La Macarena.     Wednesday - I had a routine doctor's appointment and lab work. All good. We also it up Schlotzy's for lunch and got a few supplies at Walmart. We watched the new season of Bosch. It's good.     Thursday - Errands around town.     Friday - More errands and banking in town. Doing some paperwork at home. It's easy to get behind.     Saturday and Sunday - We watched football and took it easy. Steve made a stand for us to use an old TV for our computer monitor.

Oct 24 - 31, 2022

Monday - Another drive to Ponca City for a Mammogram appointment. We got some rain today which is sorely needed.     Tuesday - I had my first appointment at MicBride Orthopedic Clinic. I am having an evaluation on my left shoulder. After X rays the doctor recommended I have a total Shoulder replacement. He doesn't do that surgery any more and set me up with another doctor in the clinic who can do my surgery. We had a nice supper art La Macarena with Linda and Hazel.     Wednesday - We completed some laundry today and paid a few bills. What fun!    Thursday - The guy was here from Power Lift to estimate the cost for getting the garage foundation stabilized. He was very nice and may know a guy who can get our cement repaired also. It has a big crack that has raised and is a very bad tripping hazard. We also got the oil changed in the car and it cost $70! WOW!    Friday - Shopping at Stillwater. I went to Ulta Beauty for my hair products and of course we had to go to Walmart for other items. Today we had a fox on our trail cam!     Saturday & Sunday - We watched a lot of football. My team got beat! Darn. On Sunday our grandson, Logan came up and he and Steve did some work on his Explorer. We also took him out to eat. He is a growing young man.   Monday - We were up and around early again. I returned to McBride to see the PA and meet the surgeon who will replace my Left Shoulder joint. They also had me do more X-rays, lab work and and EKG. Steve and I ate lunch at Chilis and went to REI to see about getting him shoes. We could not find his size, so we will order them online. Then we returned home.

My Left Should which is getting replaced.

Ok this catches me up through October. I will try to get the rest of the year finished with brief posts like this.
