Then we monitored the radio for happenings. We drove down to Whitetail and by the boat ramp to check them out. We could not go past the cones to the viewpoint, so we came back to the RV. We were going to take a longer hike, but the smoke was bothering Logan and so we went back to the RV.
The kids watched TV. Steve fixed the awning strap - and I assisted him with that. Basically we sat around kind of bored and listened to the radio and ate nervously! We went to the visitor center and they had no new information. We returned to the RV and fixed supper. Kristi helped me get the gray out of my hair!
Next we loaded up the dogs and drove to Camp Bennion to see the smoke and take a walk.
We forgot Steve's camera so Kristi went back to retrieve it. A while after she returned Ranger Dan stopped because one of the camp hosts had reported that our pickup was beyond the barrier and dogs were barking. Ranger said even though we were Brig volunteers, we should not drive our vehicle beyond the barrier. We did not know this. So we returned to the RV and did not look for any deer.
He kind of upset me, cause he said the "Feds have you on their radar". Anyway I was just upset and stressed and worried about the fire and what we are going to do, if we can't do anything or go places! I did get to sleep eventually though. Hope for a better day tomorrow.
