West and North May 15 (Tuesday) and May 16, (Wednesday) 2018

We got off to a pretty good start on Tuesday and headed up to I-80. The drive was very nice and we stayed overnight at Roubideaux RV Park in Gering, Nebraska. We could see Scottsbluff National Monument from our site. The site was laid out kind of weird and it was narrow. But it worked out OK for one night. We didn't specifically tour the Monument - but enjoyed our view.

Scottsbluff National Monument 

On Wednesday, we drove toWyoming. We drove some more backroads and got to Casper, WY about 12:30 PM. We stopped at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. This was very informative

and we enjoyed touring it. It covered the Oregon Trail, Mormon Trail, the California Trail and the Pony Express Trail. It has excellent display and a short movie.  Well worth the stop!

I thought this was the Welcome to Wyoming sign- but no, it was Eat Beef!  Just as good!

The white dots in this picture are Pronghorns!  One of my favorite animals. We saw a lot of these going up I-25.

We arrived at Buffalo Wyoming and stayed overnight at Deer RV Park. We have stayed here before! It is a nice park and easy for us to use.
