September 27 - Oct 3, 2021 Getting Closer To Our Home

Monday (27th) We got up a little later today about 9 or 9:30. After we had breakfast and walked the dogs, we relaxed and watched some TV. Later on, Kristi and John came out to the RV and we went to Yukon to eat supper at Johnny Carrino's. Then we stopped at Braum's for ice cream. I abstained from the ice cream tonight after eating out so much. I talked to both my sisters today. Dallas Cowboys played the Philadelphia Eagles tonight and we watched them win! Yea!

Tuesday (28th)we got up and prepared to leave. Our first stop was Walmart to get gas and then we hooked up the pickup and were on our way to Dewey, OK. My oldest sister and her husband moved there this summer to be closer to their daughter. Dewey is a small town on the north side of Bartlesville. We made a quick stop at our home in Perry and checked things out. We turned on the air conditioner and a few other things. Then we were back on the road. We also stopped a bit at Pawhuska to rest because we were tired. We just pulled over in the Alco parking lot and relaxed a bit. Stretched our legs and had a little snack. Then it was on to Dewey where we stopped at Pam & JC's house. They showed us their house and then showed us a COE Park at Copan, OK a little further north. I talked to the camp host there and she said there were open sites but all had to be paid online and some were reserved for Thursday (Recreation.gov). So we scrapped this idea for today and decided we would return here later since we know what has to be done to get a site.  It's a really nice place and we will try to return here. We drove back to Dewey and stayed at Spring Creek RV Park. It was right on Highway 75 - so it's a little noisy at times. We unhooked the pickup and backed the RV in and hooked up all the utilities. And did I mention it was HOT! 92-93 degrees and also very humid! After we got settled we drove the pickup back to Pam's house and we went out to eat at Montana Mike"s in Bartlesville. I personally do not recommend this restaurant - it wasn't that great. My baked potato looked to be cooked a day or two ago.

Wednesday we woke up to rain. We were not moving fast. So we waited awhile before we went to see Pam & JC. We sat around and visited a couple of hours. then it was back to the RV to check on the dogs and eat lunch. Pam & JC ate at Chili's while we ate lunch at the RV. Then we went back to town and visited some more. We stopped at Sonic for burgers and then drove back out to Copan Lake to walk the dogs and check out the campgrounds some more. This excursion made the dogs so happy! There were lots of smells and squirrels to sniff out. Later we joined Pam & JC for a trip through Braum's for ice cream. And we stopped at Lowe's and got the light bulbs we needed. Yea!

Thursday (30th) After we got around, we went to Pam's about 9:45 and visited for awhile. Then we went back to the RV to check on the dogs. After that we met at Pam & JC's house and went to Chile's for lunch. It was starting to rain. we visited more and then went back to the RV to rest. We are tired. It was a long trip back to Oklahoma.

Museum at Dewey (we did not visit this time)

When Friday (Oct 1) rolled around, we did all the preparations to head home: Walk the dogs, Unhook the utilities, Hook up the pickup. We filled the RV with gas and left a little after 10 AM. Our arrival home was a little before noon and we had a sandwich for lunch. Then we unloaded only the necessary stuff. Next was showers and relaxation at home. It was nice to be home. Supper was burgers from Braum's.

Saturday (2nd) we did some laundry. After getting dressing and fixing my hair we went to the post office and picked up the mail. We also made a stop at the grocery store. We watched OU and OSU win their respective foot ball games. Pretty much it was relaxation and catching up on our rest.

Sunday we were brave and did a Walmart trip to get supplies. Then it was more football. Later in the day, Steve had a migraine - so he really needed to take it easy. I gave him his medicine for it - but the headache didn't improve much.

Well, at least now the blog has been caught up to our arrival at home. We have been home since Oct 1, 2021. I'm trying to get caught up - but it's taking some time.
