Sept 26, 2022 Monday Driving Through Yellowstone

Today was lovely. It was cool when we left about 10 ish. We unhooked our utilities and headed to West Yellowstone. Today we drove the RV from the west side of Yellowstone NP to the East side and on over to Cody, WY. It's always in my plan to drive through Yellowstone if it's on our way. Yellowstone is my favorite National Park! We saw lots of Bison! It was a pretty slow  roll on our drive. We did our sightseeing from the RV.

Bad picture through the front window of the RV - But we are in Yellowstone

There is a pullout at Gibbon Falls and it was packed with cars. Do not kid yourself about crowds in September. The park has many visitors and your best bet is to come early if you want to actually park or hike. We didn't do that since we were just driving through.

This bison was taking his sweet time and hogging the road!

East Entrance - drove through at 1:11 PM
We entered from the West at 10:13 - so about a 3 hour tour.

We climbed a couple of grades and went over some passes about 20 -25 mph. That is a slow roll.  Then we had Sylvan Pass, a 71/2% grade for 5 miles to navigate. Steve did great. He is an excellent driver! When you are on the passenger side there are some really big drop offs that are  almost too scary to look at!

Yes of course there is road construction through the forest! LOL

We got to Cody, WY safe and sound. Our campground was the Ponderosa. We have stayed here before and enjoyed it. They are a Good Sam Park. They only take cash or checks, no credit cards or debit cards. So don't forget that!

We set up and walked the dogs. Then settled in for some Monday night football. The Dallas Cowboys beat the NY Giants. Go Cowboys!
