Monday, September 4, 2017 Labor Day, Last Day before Departure

Regular morning. I sorted the laundry and we went across the street to get it done. It was very hot in the laundry. The air is smoky. We returned to the RV. Mary did not take a nap but Steve did. He worked up feeling OK but then wrenched the upper middle of his back and was in pain. I doctored him as best as possible. WE found a lidocaine patch and along with some ibuprofen he felt better. After his walk and picture taking he was greatly improved. We ate sandwiches for supper. We wanted to arrive at the beach area before sunset, because last night we were almost too late. The sun is going down earlier every night. Then we drove to the South Jetty of Fort Stevens SP. We took the dogs and we walked out through the sand (hard going, slogging through it). We took pictures that were very interesting with the smoke overlay. Steve took his camera and enjoyed himself taking pictures.
Long line of pilings
There is a ship in two of these pictures.
I got a great picture of Steve's silhouette enjoying his photography! On our way back to the RV we saw Roosevelt Elk. We even heard them bugle - that was neat. They are hard to see in these pictures, but they are there.
