Saturday, September 2, 2017 Oregon Coast
This morning we drove back to the north end of the park by the Columbia River. There were lots of folks there fishing and enjoying the beach and water. So we just did a short walk with the dogs.
Next we decided to try to drive to a lighthouse south of us on the Oregon Coast, The Cape Meares Lighthouse, which was about 55 miles away. We got south about 8 miles to Seaside and it was packed with tourists, beach goers and everybody else! Of course it is Labor Day Week-end!
We saw this guy in Seaside, OR.
So we drove along and stopped at a few roadside pullouts for pictures - never found a slow place to walk the dogs.

So I drove awhile and let Steve take some pictures - then I stopped south of Garibaldi and we looked at Tillamook Bay - then decided we were tired of driving and turned back.
We stopped at Ruby's Roadside Grill in Seaside for Burgers for us and the dogs. This place is dog friendly and you can take your dog (s) in there to eat. Of course your dogs should be friendly, which our aren't. So Steve stayed in the pickup with the dogs and I ordered our food. When it was done we ate in the pickup. This was hands down one of the best burgers we've had in ages! Highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area and hungry! Also they had very nice staff! Their slogan is the Best Burgers on the Planet.
All in all it took about four (4) hours to drive 40 miles and have a few stops. We weren't going to take a nap, but we were pooped, so took one anyway!
We returned to the North end of the park, less people but couldn't see the sunset. So we moved to where the observation deck is and watched some beautiful sky color changes! A very nice ending to the day.

We watch a movie most evenings. We get up late, walk the dogs, sit outside sightsee, nap, eat, walk, movie and bed. This is the routine, unless laundry or groceries are required.
