After our usual routine I decided to lay in the sun and got dizzy. So I went inside and ate and took a nap. I felt better when I got up. I went back and forth to the dock - checking things and asking questions. There were 2 boys here alone on bikes, they worried me. Busy Day! There were lots of boaters, swimmers, fishermen, kayakers and floaters. The guys put the handicapped parking sign back up (it had fallen over). For supper we had Hot Dogs, Smoked sausage, beans and chips.
Sunday - June 30
We monitored the boat dock off & on today. About 12:30 we went to Echo Lake Cafe for Brunch. It took us til about 2:30 - they were busy and we had about a 45 minute wait. We all sat outside after we got back to the RV. Kristi and the kids took their raft across to the island. We were busy at the lake but no big problems. Our supper was Hamburgers and chips. Since everyone was tired we went to bed and just fell asleep shortly after 11 PM. Kristi woke us up at midnight - someone knocked on the window- scary. Steve & I got dressed and went out with the flashlight and checked the parking lot. There was one pickup with a boat and one boat trailer without a pickup. We stayed awake about an hour. Logan came inside the RV to sleep. All was good the rest of the night.
Monday - July 1
Due to last night's excitement - we slept late. When we were walking the dogs, we saw someone at the boat trailer. So we went down and talked to him. He was the one who knocked on the window last night. The mystery was solved. His trailer light connection had become messed up and he thought it would be better to leave the trailer until daylight. Today we did the car count and messaged the boss. Later the boss came down and brought life jackets for us to put out for the life jacket loaner program. We hauled the trash and checked the Bigfork access. Later we went to Kalispell to take the awning to get it trimmed and hemmed to the correct length. The guy who did the awning used to live in Dodge City, KS - so we had a nice visit with him. We also went to Walmart - which was crazy! Next we picked up a burger at McDonald's and got back home about 4 PM. The groceries were put away - that pooped us out.
Sights we see on the road to Kalispell!
Tuesday - July 2
Steve was up early - he did chores alone. I was up by 8 Am and we walked the dogs. I called Tony (boss) and told him we gave some landowner his card. The landowner wanted to complain about the parking on the road during the week-end. The man finished our awning and Steve & I returned to Kalispell to pick it up. On our way we check on renting ladders to use for the awning fabric installation. We also stopped at Home Depot, the FWP Office, Walgreen's and Ace Hardware - many errands. Supper was fajitas again and we also had a campfire and S'mores later.

Wednesday - July 3
Today we picked up the ladders to do the awning. We did the awning- old one off , then lunch and a 2 hour nap. Next the new awning fabric went on. All of us worked on getting the awning fabric installed. It was a team effort. No one got screamed at or hurt. We felt like it was a great accomplishment. Supper was pizza to celebrate. Thenwe took a drive down the east side of Flathead Lake and saw the cherry orchards. On our way home we stopped for ice cream.

Thursday - July 4
Happy 4th of July! The day was fairly slow, cool and overcast for awhile. The kids and Kristi paddled the Kayak and raft around the lake, while Steve & I sat outside. Lunch was leftovers and supper was burgers, beans and chips. Again we had a campfire and S'mores for dessert. Then the fireworks started and they were really loud and echoed all around the lake. I sent some kids off the dock at 10:45 PM - Still 1 pickup and 1 pickup and boat trailer in the parking lot when we went to bed.
Oddities for the day: A helicopter kept buzzing the lake (found out later that people were jumping out of it for entertainment), the Game Warden was here part of the afternoon, but no major problems.

Sunset - 4th of July |
Fireworks |
We were up at 8 AM and returned our rental ladders. Then we did our chores and walked the dogs. Next we loaded trash and cleaned the Bigfork access sites. Someone had shot a firework off in the sink at that bathroom. Before returning to the RV, we had a lovely lunch at the Grateful Bread in Bigfork. We also had stops at the the grocery store and hardware store. When we got home I monitored the dock some. Supper was Hot Dogs and chips and a nice campfire later. Everyone was pooped and watched TV from 8 PM to 10 PM.
