September 18, 2019 Wednesday- A Beautiful Drive

We got up and around. It was 46 degrees tis morning at Deer Lodge. So we waited a bit for it to warm up before we walked the the dogs and dumped our tanks. We were soon on our way, about 10:00 AM.

Speed going over Homestake Pass

We got on I-90 and crossed the Continental Divide at Homestake Pass. When we got near Cardwell, MT, we saw a moose right near the interstate. So Steve took the exit and we got some pictures before it took off.

Of course we were on  a dead end road. So we unhooked the pickup from the RV and turned them around and hooked back up. We stopped at Walmart in Bozeman to get a few more supplies. Then we headed south toward West Yellowstone on US 191. This road was narrow - lots of curves and slow going, so kind of a hard drive for Steve. The Gallatin River runs alongside of the highway and it was just beautiful.

Plus this highway also goes through Yellowstone NP for a few miles.

I could live here if I had plenty of firewood & propane

We arrived at West Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park about 5:00 PM.  The site we got was a back in - so we had to unhook the pickup again before we could back in and set up. We walked the dogs and returned to the RV. Supper was sandwiches. We watched some TV and I caught up my journal.
