May 31, 2012 Thursday
After a quick breakfast and lots of window cleaning by Steve we unhooked the RV from utilities and drove to the shopette(gas station/convenience store) on base and filled it up-- Boy was the RV thirsty!!! Then we hooked up the pickup to the RV and got on the road about 10:30. We ate a Sandwich at Cuba NM. Then we drove through the NW New Mexico desert land --Aztec, Farmington, Shiprock and crossed into Colorado. This is interesting country - just not what I prefer for the most part. We had a little trouble at Aztec - the generator needed an altitude (not attitude) adjustment. It didn't want to work quite right so Steve worked on it. Finally got it to go so we could be cool while going down the road
We got MORE GAS at Ute Mountain Casino. Then pulled into Sundance RV Park in downtown Cortez CO. We are 10 miles from Mesa Verde National Park and will be going there tomorrow.
