Saturday, August 19, 2017 Can't visit today
Today we tried 3 times to go to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center - no place to park. We stopped at NorthHead Lighthouse and took pictures. It is being repaired - so you can't visit it--but it was a great place to take pictures and admire the view. The sun was out so the pictures look much better! It amazes us that there are trees/forest right next to the coast.
There are two lighthouses on the Cape (the mouth of the Columbia River) because it was such a dangerous area. Many lost their lives at the mouth of the Columbia River.
Next up some lunch. We went to Serious Pizza and had a pizza! It was wood-fired (which I like) and we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. The guy who waited on us was nice and checked on us to see how we liked the pizza.
We drove to the north end of the Peninsula and took the dogs on a hike at Leadbetter Point State Park.
The dogs love these outings. I didn't take any pictures here.
We also stopped by the beach, but it was too crowded to get the dogs out. By the way - you are allowed to drive on this beach. Every time we go to the beach - someone is out there driving around - and it's legal!
