Thursday, August 16, 2017 Moving Back to the Coast
We moved back to the coast. This was due to being unable to get the correct reservations in the right places. A little backtracking going on. We took it a little slow getting around because Steve didn't feel so hot. We unhooked the utilities, hooked up the pickup and then dumped the sewer. Then we were on our way. We also stopped and got gas.
We passed through interesting country, hayfields, a poplar plantation, water ways, and rivers.
There are so many trees and they are so green - hence this state is named the Evergreen state.
We passed through an area called wth Willapa Hills, the lowest uplands in the entire Pacific Coast Range System. Almost all of the land is privately held and has been repeatedly logged. Only a few long corners remain with virgin forest. Alders less that twenty old are typically harvested for pulp mills (Wikipedia).
We have seen these hilly mountains covered with trees and the are is very scenic. We also notice cattle and horses grazing in some places.
We arrived about 2:30 in Long Beach. Finally found a site. The first one Steve backed into did not seem to have a place to plug in the electric. The sites are weird here the four site utility thing. So we moved to a different site and got set up. This place is tight and crowded but we have full hookups and we are level. Also we have a great satellite signal and cell phone signal- 2 bars of LTE.
I fixed us nice supper of pork chops, home fries, salad and blueberry bread - Yum!
We watched a movie - Conagher and the Night Shift.
