Telephone Booth! Don't see those much anymore. |
Then we were on our way to Missoula. I wanted to see the Smokejumper visitor's center and we had to stop at Walmart - to get supplies and pick up my blood pressure medicine.
We stopped at the Smokejumper Visitor Center and found out they were already on winter hours. Which would mean - you have to call two days ahead to get a tour. We enjoyed the walk around the grounds though! I took pictures of the Hornet Peak Lookout cabin that was on display outside.
Then we toured Walmart and got our stuff.
We drove a little further east to Beavertail Hill State Park. We stayed here on our very first RV trip in 2003. So this was a nice place to return. The Clark Fork River runs through the park - but our site was not on the river. We had water on board and they have electric at the park now. When we stayed here 15 years ago- there was no electricity. It was just so relaxing here that we stayed another night. On Thursday we took a long walk with the dogs on the road - beside the river. We think we saw bear scat on our walk! I talked to the campground host and they suggested a great drive but Steve's back was giving him fits - so we just hung out at the campground. We also called Kristi and wished her a happy birthday.
