Saturday, May 9, 2015 Relaxing

Today we started slow.  I cooked turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and toast.  Then Steve took his shower while I went to the office and paid for our stay.  The lady in the office used to live in Wichita, KS.  But now she and her husband full-time and they have been camphosts here for 9 or 10 years.  She and I had a nice visit.  She told me where to go look for the Bighorn Sheep.

After I got back to the RV, Steve had straightened up the place and we were ready to go for a drive.

We went on the road to North Fork, then turned at the convenience store and headed up a blacktop road toward Shoup.
We saw a lot of wonderful places to take pictures, so we stopped and walked the dogs and took pictures.  We didn't drive too far, because we needed gas in the pickup.  So we just went about 5 or 10 miles and turned around.  We stopped several places though, to shoot pictures.  Steve got the eagle in flight on his camera, plus some baby geese (goslings) paddling down the river between two grown geese.  It was so cute!
We also took pictures of a horse corral, with horses and mules in it alongside the Salmon River, with mountains in the background and a nice looking log fence!  Picture Perfect.
Of course we returned to the RV and sat outside in our chairs and watched the river!  So peaceful, until Buster honks the RV horn!  OK, back inside to take the dogs for a long walk over the RV Park's bridge and all around.   Back to the RV for a nap!!

Next we drove back to Salmon, ID to get a bite to eat and look for more wildlife.  We checked out the information on fish screens.

We had seen these wheels, but didn't know what they were for.  Now we know, the fish screens are to help the fish be able to return to the ocean!  Yea!  And people can still irrigate with the river water and not keep the fish from getting stranded, so to speak.  On the way home, Steve saw elk in the river, but it was too dark for me to see them or take more pictures.  We also saw 2 deer.  We were going to have a campfire, but it was 10 PM when we got home, so I decided to catch up this blog instead.  We will have a campfire tomorrow night!
