Sunday, May 3, 2015 Zion National Park

We slept in this morning!  Nice.  After we got ready, we headed toward Zion National Park.  We saw beautiful scenery again.  The drive was nice.  We kept hearing that you had to kennel your dogs and ride a shuttle, so we did not know what to expect.

When we arrived, we got to the entrance and showed them the pass and were waved on through.  We looked at South Campground.  It did not look too great.  Lots of people camped, it was full.

Then we drove on down the road.  We were able to drive all the way through the park!  We stopped at a lot of roadside turnouts to take pictures.  We were finally able to figure out that you can't drive into the canyon, but you can drive all the way through the park on UT 9.

That is what we did.  We didn't hike, it would be better to come in March for us to hike.  It was in the 80's most of the day.  Not too hot, but a little too hot for us.  Also - we would have had to arrange a kennel for the dogs to stay at for the day.

We got a good sense of the park and would definitly recommend it.  If you travel near here, go see it.  We really like the 1+ mile tunnel and the very interesting shapes of the rocks.

A photographer would love this place.

We stopped and got a few groceries and came home.  I fixed us some supper and then we finished the evening relaxing.

Good Day.

Tomorrow we plan to move north to Cedar City, UT.
