Since we had not planned to leave, we were behind the 8 ball in getting ready. We finally got everything put away, jacks up, slides in, satellite dish stored and utilities disconnected, pickup connected. And guess what, the lights worked properly! Yea! We finally rolled out of the RV Park (Cedar Breaks RV Park) about 1:00 PM.
The young guy who was sweeping the driveway visited with us and told us he had been up in the mountains a few days ago, bear hunting. He did not shoot a bear, didn't see one. He looked at our front tires though and thought we should have their tire guy check them. We pulled around and had him look at them and he and Steve inspected them and decided one was separating. We decided to go ahead and get two new tires for the front of the RV. Tires are expensive, but avoiding a wreck, blowout, or getting killed is priceless!
We had a beautiful drive up I-15 and Steve noticed a big difference in the handling of the RV after the new tires were put on. We enjoyed the lovely views out the window. Mountains, cattle, windmills and very little traffic on the road. We kept thinking we would pull into a campground, but the drive was going great. We got to Salt Lake City and the traffic was fairly light about that time (around 7 or 7:30 PM), so we decided to keep driving until Steve was tired. We got all the way to Brigham City, UT and thought we found a campground. When we pulled into it though, it said they were full unless you had reservations, which we didn't. We had gassed up at a truck stop, but there wasn't room to park there due to all the trucks being parked. And so we went to Walmart and stayed the night there.
We were just glad to get bedded down for the night because the headlights on the RV were not very bright and it was dark. We normally don't drive the RV after dark. Anyway, it was about 9:30 before we got stopped and we were pooped, it was a long day.
