August 1, 2015 Saturday and August 2, 2015 Sunday Working at the Brig

Both days, we get up and tend to our usual morning duties:  get dressed, walk the dogs, eat breakfast, make the bed, do the best we can to look presentable!
Next we open the Brig and turn on the lights, the movie stuff and the music player, also open the new wing and the gates.
Saturday after work at the Brig, I had to turn the lights off and on for the RV/PU!  More fun.  Then I fixed supper.  After it cooled off we walked part of the Highpoint Trail.  Then we took it easy and went to bed!

Sunday -I had a guy at the Museum today who had been here for Boot Training in 1943 -starting February and then went to Radio school at Camp Peterson.  He said he didn't know why they had this training station on a lake, because they weren't on the lake.  He said they only went on the lake one day for whaleboat training (getting off the ship).  He also told me about the swimming pool in the drill halls and if you didn't know how to swim - then you got to swim for two hours instead of marching.  It seems odd to me that sailors had to march so much.  He said he remembered lots of snow while he was here!
Sunday we strolled around the north side. The sun was an amazing orange ball.  I took a picture but it doesn't do it justice.
