August 9 & 10, 2015 Sunday and Monday

Sunday-
After our morning walk the dogs went back to bed!!
Zoey the Princess and Buster in a Bag (Sleeping Bag).  Those two are so excited to go exploring and so ready to get back to sleep whenwe return from the walk.

Well Sunday it is back to work at the Brig.  We had 117 visitors today.  After we finished for the day, we dozed off while watching the news.
As stated earlier, it is getting dark earlier now, so after our supper and a little TV watching we decided to just walk nearby.  We walked at Camp Bennion.  It was a lovely evening, about 69 degrees and the dogs were thrilled to be exploring again.  Buster runs from side-to-side and Zoey sniffs every ground squirrel hole she can find.  They really love Farragut State Park.  We do too!

Monday-
Again we are manning our work stations at the Brig.  Today Errin (Park Ranger/Volunteer Coordinator) brought us two scrapbooks to put up in the Brig Museum.  They look great and I read them both.  They are stories of two brothers who were in WWII.  One was captured by the Japanese and survived the Bataan Death March, only to lose his life when his captors transferred him and about 1800 other POWs on an unmarked boat.  The other brother joined the Navy and earned a Purple Heart, but he survived.
We have some entertainment at the Brig from the Park Radios.  We learn about possible bear scat (turned out to be horse apples).  We have also learned of an Iraq War Veteran who is roaming around the park in only a pair of shorts, his buddies (?) thought he should be weaned off his antidepressant.  Sometimes there are sewer issues, bee issues and always campers who are not leaving their sites on time.

Hidden deer above!
