Monday, April 13, 2015 Travel Day

We woke up to cool weather and a gloomy sky.  It was overcast and had rained overnight.  Good sleeping weather.  We had our breakfast and did our usual morning routine.  Next we put in the slides, stored the jacks and disconnected the utilities.  We did not get an early start, more like about 11 AM.  Well anyway, we were off into the wild blue yonder!
Steve did a great job of driving and we stopped at Elk City at Wal-Mart (Steve's favorite place).  We had a little lunch at McDonald's and then got supplies and items we needed for the RV.  This seemed to take forever!!  We were all over the store and finally got most of the items on our list.  When we took our stuff to the RV we almost blew away!  The wind was so strong!  At least is was a tailwind - something most RV travelers don't get to experience.
We kept moving west and finally got to the Aok Campground ( a Passport America Campground) on the East side of Amarillo.  It is not reallly pretty, but is very serviceable for our needs.  It is cheap, $12.50/night and near Steve's sister.  We got in a little later than ususal, about 7 PM and got our RV set up for the night.  Then we came in and had a bite to eat and got to sleep early.
