Saturday, April 18, 2015 Leaving Amarillo by Morning

Well we actually got off to a pretty good start this morning.  We left about 9:45 AM.  We headed west out of Amarillo.  It was a pretty good drive.  The wind did blow and there were lots of trucks on the interstate that push against us.  Steve said that driving this RV is much easier than the old one we had.  We crossed the New Mexico Border.  This picture documents that, but I guess I wasn't holding the phone very straight!! LOL
Here is a picture around Tucumacari.

Here is a picture as we approached Albuquerque.
After we got to Albuquerque, we had planned on staying the the Kirtland AFB FamCamp.  We first went to the wrong gate and had to go around a few blocks to the Eubank gate.  We got through the gate with no problems and went to the office.  Of course, this being Saturday, no one was in the office, but there was a registration/waiting list to sign up on.  Well we thought we could get into a spot - but a lady hollered at us and said "Were you trying to get in #61, we have that spot."  Well OK -- so we parked a few minutes in the dry camp and I called a Passport America Park on the west side of town and they had sites available.  Great!  We would like one.  The price was $18.00, same at the FamCamp.  The name of the Campground was:  Enchanted Trails RV Park.  It was a little crowded but was fine for overnight. We were tired from the drive and a little frustrated from finding a site, so we decided to order pizza.  No Problem, Domino's delivers right to your site.  That was it for this day, we were pooped and went to bed!
