Friday, September18, 2015 Headed for Moab, UT

We got up and completed the usual routine with a shorter walk for the dogs.  Steve was still feeling a little poorly so we tried to be very efficient in getting the RV ready to roll and the pickup hooked up.  We were really glad to leave that crowded campground and see more country.  We got ice for the ice chests since we are holding out on checking the refrigerator until we get to a bigger town.
Anyway we got on I-70 and headed east.  Man is this country huge.

For most of the drive I had no cell signal, which is another good reason to have a tow vehicle, just in case.  We did go through Fishlake National Forest and it had a few scrubby trees. It was pretty though, because there were a few glimpses of fall color, Nice.

Most of the area did not have fence and was pretty much uninhabitable.  The rock formations are amazing though!  It makes you realize how small we as humans are.
We turned off the interstate and headed south toward Moab.

As we arrived it really was crowded.  This is a TOURIST town!
We got to Spanish Trails RV Park and were a little happier with the site.  It has a tiny bit of cement and a small patch of grass along with a shade tree!  We got set up and walked the dogs.  We can't believe how hot it feels when the temperature is in the mid 70s.  It just saps Steve's energy.
About six or six thirty we decide to go for a drive.  We drove to Arches National Park and it was open!  We were surprised.  We were able to drive up the road and stopped and took pictures.  It was a lovely evening!  We got some nice iPhone pics and a preview of the park.
The plan is to get up a little earlier in the morning and try to hit Arches National Park before the crowd arrives.  We will see how that works.
