The day was gloomy, rainy, cold, wet, dreary, etc..... you get the idea. We walked the dogs wearing sweatshirts and our ponchos!
Next we were in the musuem. Oh man, were we busy. I was ready to kill the people by 1:30 or 2:00 PM. One lady came in and refused to take her dog outside. I told her no dogs were allowed (we also have two signs!). I explained that only service dogs are allowed inside the museum. She then tried to claim her dog was a service dog, of course it wasn't. I just gave up, end of season....what could I do, call the Ranger?
Anyway, the day finally ended! We had 251 people in the museum the biggest crowd we have had all summer.
Monday-
Well we had a pretty busy day today also. We had 94 people in the museum today! We counted all the donation and sales money. We also counted the change drawer. We did the final count on this summer's museum visitors and we had 9,763 visitors who signed the guest register. Sometimes we almost had to beg to get people to sign the guest register. Most all the men would say "My wife will sign for us." We also got some more crazy questions: How far around the Lake is it?, Where did the Marines sleep?, Was it the USS Missouri where the Japanese surrendered? (yes on September 2, 1945).
We were tired after work and went to Athol to eat supper and have ice cream. Saw Glenn and Pat, volunteers from Texas. They were also getting ice cream. They are leaving tomorrow.
We will be renting a carpet shampoo machine tomorrow and doing laundry and doing other prep to get ready to leave.
We expect to leave on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 or Thursday, September 10, 2015 unless something comes up.
