Thursday, March 5, 2020 Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

We got around and walked the dogs after breakfast.  Then we loaded up some snacks and drinks and headed out to Enchanted Rock Sate Natural Area. I drove the pickup - so no photos until we got there We drove on little farm to market road about 17 miles from town. I had purchased my pass online 2 days before and our entrance time was 10:30 to 12:30 AM.  They have to stagger the entry times to this park because it is very popular and not enough parking spots at times.
We went into the visitor center and took Steve's VA Disability Confirmation letter. This allows him free entry into Texas State Parks and gets me in for half price. This is a great deal, because Texas state parks charge about $8-10 per person or vehicle to get in. So they refunded  $12 of the $16 I had paid online the other day. Yea! Any veteran who has a disability rating of 65% or more is eligible for this pass - even non-residents.
The Enchanted Rock (people are climbing it) Enlarge to see them.

A great view from here

A pretty big hunk of rock!

A little water runs through the rocks
My Favorite and Buster is checking it out too!

We found a place to park and then took our dogs on the Loop hike. We went up to the top of the hill. We saw some neat rock formations and had great views. The younger people were climbing the Enchanted Rock- that was a little too difficult for us. But we enjoyed our visit.
We got back to the RV in time for lunch and a short rest. Later we made a run to Walmart for supplies. Steve check the oil and tires on the RV and they were fine. We had a light supper of grilled chicken, salad and strawberries.
