Final Preparations Before the Trip June 6 -15, 2017

Wednesday and Thursday I worked - just routine things. Friday the 9th of June, we mowed our yard and got keys and things around for yard care (Tyler & Weedman) and mail delivery (Hazel). There is no end to technical difficulties at our house - the battery backup for the computer went out. On Saturday, we went to Oklahoma City to meet up with Kristi and the kids before we leave on our trip. We also went to Best Buy for a new battery backup device and I went to Cabella's for 2 new shirts. We had lunch at Texas Roadhouse and said our See Ya Laters!. We went home and started making preparations to leave. Sunday, we did laundry, packed clothes and went to Walmart for supplies. By the end of the day we were pooped. The plan was to get up early Monday June 12th and take off. Well we got up at 6:30 AM. We loaded the last minute things from the refrigerator, and the toiletries. We checked the tires and aired them up. Then we were ready to back out of the RV shed and put the satellite dish on the roof. Again, technical difficulties - we could not find the bolts that attach it to the roof! OH NO!
We made about 4 - 5 trips to the Hardware store in town trying to get the correct bolts, of the right length. We had to buy extra nuts and use them for spacers, because the bolts were too long. By then we were hot and exhausted - mainly Steve. He agreed to rest and we went to Braum's and got a hamburger and shake and took a nap. Next thing, our home phone, internet, and cell phone were down again. By this time we decided to scrap today's plan and just go out to the Perry Lake and then leave on Tuesday. We couldn't put the RV back under the shed, because the satellite dish was on it and it won't fit, also our electric cord lacked 1 foot of reaching be able to just leave the RV in the drive and plug in. So the was the plan - Perry Lake. We decided to go get some gas and when I got in the pickup a text message came through from Kristi - she had a severe headache and had went to the doctor, who sent her for a CT. They thought she had an arachnoid cyst on her brain. This scared us pretty bad and we decided to go to El Reno and stay a few days until we found out more about her condition. We left Perry about 8:00 PM and arrive at El Reno City Park about 10:00 PM. We got the last available spot. Again, we were pooped, so we hooked up the electricity and went to bed. On Tuesday we got up about 8:00 AM and walked the dogs, paid our fees and hooked up the utilities. Kristi came out and we visited. She had to arrange where to get her MRI that had the best coverage with her insurance. We went to Lowe's in Yukon and got some better bolts for the satellite dish. Logan and Steve skipped rocks at the lake and we walked the dogs. We were able to get Dish to re-send the signal to our satellite and finally it works!
We got up at 6:30 on Wednesday and drove Kristi to the MRI at Baptist in OKC. We arrived there early and they took her right away. She was finished with the MRI before her actual appointment. Then we all went home and took naps. I made Pizza for lunch and we all went to Chili's at Yukon for supper. Thursday brought great news! Kristi does not have a cyst on her brain. It is a sinus infection! We were all so relieved and happy! Logan had to go to the dentist and we went to OKC to McClain's to pick up extra tow bar pins (just in case)and a few additional supplies. We all ate supper the the Golf Course restaurant out by the El Reno Lake - where the RV was parked. We did not want to cook - it was too hot to cook inside or outside. Kristi and the kids left for Amarillo that night and we prepped the RV and hooked up the pickup so we could get a good start on Friday.
