Mt. Rushmore Thursday, June 22, 2017

I slept in until about 9:00, Steve got up earlier. We finished drying the overalls. Next we went to Camping World where we bought some RV light bulbs, a new water hose and a new water regulator. I saw this cute bag, but I don't need another bag!
We usually use a blue water filter outside, but the most recent one sent charcoal through our lines last night. It is so weird to see black water coming out of the faucets. These items cost about 70 or 80 bucks! Then we went to Walmart and got other supplies. This was a really nice Walmart with very helpful employees. This town of Rapid City is about 57,000 people and looks to be prospering and growing There are nice houses and the tourist business is booming here. Then we returned to the RV and ate a sandwich and chips. My back and knee hurt, so I took a rest while Steve put on our new regulator and water hose. He also fixed the dog seat and changed the light bulbs. He is a very handy fellow to have around. Next we drove to Mt. Rushmore and part of the Needles highway. When we got to the Custer State Park (the highway goes through it) we turned around because it cost $20.00 to get a vehicle pass (for 1-7 days). Since we planned to leave the next day, the price of the pass did not seem worth it to us. Keystone and Hill City are cute, touristy towns! I think we need to workamp here sometime and stay for the summer.
We finally arrived back to the RV about 8:00 PM and relaxed. It was a nice night and we will move tomorrow.
