Driving to Crescent Bar near Quincy, WA July 6, 2017, Thursday
Today was a driving day - on to the next spot. This is an Encore/Thousand Trails RV Resort near Quincy, WA at Crescent Bar. We drove through Spokane, WA - it took a long time, evidently there is not expressway through or around the city.
The first picture is of the HUGE rock behind our campsite. This area reminded us a lot of Farragut State Park in Idaho. We really lucked out when we took that volunteer job.
Then we joined I-90 and drove West. This is a major agriculture area. They grow: wheat, potatoes, grapes, apples, cherries, field corn, timothy hay, alfalfa hay, blueberries, Fuji apples, Concord grapes, green peas, gran corn. There are many wineries in this area. (I know why - the people like/need to drink, LOL).
They irrigate - big time.
We arrived at Crescent Bar Thousand Trails resort - HOT about 2:30 PM - we have to unhook the pickup in blazing heat. Then had to drive around to locate a site - no one to help with that. We got set up but the RV did not cool off very good. We put the reflectix in the window and id as many tricks as we knew to try to get and keep the RV cool. It just didn't help much. There is NO SHADE here. Many people do not realize the value of shade, but I am not one of those. I love shade!
Finally we went to the little town of Quincy and took the dogs and rode around in the air -conditioned pickup - got ice cream. Ice Cream on a HOT day is wonderful!
When we returned to the RV - we changed the air conditioner filters in the RV and that seemed to help.
