Too Hot for Fun! July ,8, 2017 Saturday

Today we walked the dogs then just hung out at the RV watching TV, reading books and making reservations for the next few weeks. About 6:30 PM we took the dogs for a drive and walked on a dry, dusty trail called: Ancient Lakes Trail. We never saw an ancient lake - just a dusty trail... If we ever return to this area -we will come in April or May - when the weather is cooler. A lot of this area looks like sagebrush, desert and basalt. It is beautiful where they irrigate, otherwise not so pretty to us. Too hot! We are ready to move on and find the mountains and trees again. Short post - we did not do many interesting things today. I have googled this area to try to find a short description of the area's geography. So far, the explanations are long - so if you are interested - google Quincy WA or Crescent Bar WA, or Ice Age Floods Glacial Lake Missoula Links - the way this area was formed is interesting. The views can be spectacular and were very unexpected. This is something Steve and I have noticed as we travel. Sometimes the scenery changes dramatically and sometimes there is a smooth transition. When you travel, you will find this out also.
