Westward Ho! June 30, 2017 Friday

The Yellowstone River behind our campground spot at Billings, MT Okie Dokie, Steve woke up about 5 AM and I got up about 7:15. We started getting things ready to go, walked the dogs and made the RV ready. We wanted to hit the dump station before we left-Steve missed the turn so then he followed me around and got in line. Well the person in front of us had some kind of accident and it was not pretty. We waited and waited, finally we got our turn then pulled out and hitched up the pickup. Down the road a few miles we stopped for gas. Steve bought one more clamp for the gas line and checked for leaks on his fuel filter replacement from yesterday. It was all good - of course a gravel truck pulled in front of us and Steve was lucky enough to back up a little and go around him. Then it was west on I-90. For some reason today I was a little nervous as we went through some of the mountains near Livingston and Bozeman, also when we crossed the continental divide. But we made it fine.
Tonight we are staying at Deer Lodge KOA. It is OK - but pretty tightly packed. We ate at 4 B's - had omelettes for supper - slow waitress. I shared part of my omelette with the dogs - they love me! We walked them after supper and the bugs almost ate us up! We have 4 cans of bug spray in the RV and almost always forget to use it.
Steve's Humor (White Trash)! The Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site is in Deer Lodge - and I was going to see it, but it was closed tonight. I got to thinking it might be a lot like the tour we just had in Medora ND. They were also having a Draft Horse Exhibition - which if we had known about - we might have stopped and watched - again - we have seen lots of stuff and maybe our brains are just full for a bit. LOL Also I want to come back to this area and search for garnets and ghost towns. Our site is right on the Clark Fork River - beautiful. Luckily the satellite dish connected, and we were able to watch TV. Woo Hoo!
