Thursday, July 20, 2017 Last night at Howard Miller Steelhead County Park
We have one more night at this lovely campground. Today we putzed around trying not to drive far. In the afternoon, we loaded the dogs and went about 8 miles west and on our way back we saw a public fishing access - so we stopped and let the dogs play.
When we arrived back at the RV I saw the I missed 2 phone calls from my sister, Pam & Marsha. So we drove south about 15 miles(less curvy road) to pick up a signal and I checked in with them. They were both OK, thank goodness.
Then we had a fire and made burgers tonight. We wanted to sit out by the fire but even though we did have the campground loop all to ourselves - someone decided to pull in with 3 kids - so we knew the dogs would be problematic and we ate inside.
Steve did a few things to prepare for the journey the next day. I haven't found out what makes the water look such a beautiful turquoise green, emerald color. We did scoop some water into a clear bottle and the water was clear. So, it must be the rock on the river bottom, more research needed.
